Description

The Henry Ford Motor Company helped transform the nascent auto industry by changing the ways cars were built. In the early years of American automobile production, hundreds of companies made small numbers of cars. Prices were high, and the volume of cars produced by each company was small. When the Henry Ford Motor Company began using a moving assembly line in parts of the Highland Park factory in 1913, the company started to streamline the production process, and helped make the auto industry into a mass production industrial behemoth. The prices of automobiles fell dramatically, making them more affordable. In 1900, there were about 8,000 cars in the United States. By 1920, that number had risen to 8 million. This 1922 Ford Model T roadster is a wonderful driving example that is an incredibly original car. We recently purchased this car out of a very prominent collection in South Dakota where it was for many years. This car has benefited from an older restoration that still shows extremely well today. The soft top is in very good condition with no major rips or tears showing. The same goes for the paint which shows well with no major damage showing. Just typical dings and nicks that you will find from a Model T. This is an all steel body and fender car. The seat is older and does show some spots of repair as you can see in the photos. The wood floor is in great condition with no rot or cracking. The amp gauge works as well as the headlights. Under the hood, the wonderful running model T 4 cylinder starts up with a push of the updated electric starter. The transmission works as it should in both speeds. The underside is solid with no rot to be found. The wood wheels are solid with no cracking that we have found. The bias ply tires are older and do show some dry rot and cracking. This is a great looking Model T Roadster that is rarely seen in this original condition. The car is being sold on a clean South Dakota title.
