Description

The 1967 Satellite did not see any sheet metal changes from 1966, but there were several trim changes. A new grille featured dual side-by-side headlights, a change in the rear trunk finish panel and taillights included multiple horizontal ribs. New horizontal aluminum trim at the lower body crease with silver paint below gave all 1967 Satellites essentially a two-tone paint scheme. For 1966 and 1967, the interior vinyl seats and door panels were treated to a unique 'Western Scroll' design which mimicked tooled leather in appearance. This was the 'premium' interior shared with the GTX in 1967. For 1966 and 1967 the Satellite was again offered only in 2-door hardtop and convertible form and was powered exclusively by V8 engines. The 361 was eliminated for 1967 models, but a 2-barrel 383 at 270 hp was continued with the most powerful Satellite offering for 1967 being a 383 4-barrel rated at 325 hp. Production figures for 1966 were 35,399 hardtops and 2,759 convertibles. This specific car is said to be a 74,000 mile car that is all original with the exception of the engine. Starting life as a 318 car, this '67 Satellite now boasts a 600 horsepower, 472 Cu In HEMI under the hood! This motor alone would cost you in the ballpark of $15,000 - $20,000 if you decided to build it yourself. The car is finished in the original color of Medium Copper Metallic and in wonderful condition. It appears that the car was resprayed a few years ago and was done in a quality fashion. No rot to the body that we have seen. Both front and rear bumpers are in great condition with no major spots of pitting or imperfections. Inside, the interior is finished in its original color of copper and is in wonderful, original condition. It appears that the interior is all original with no restoration ever being done to it. The dash is solid along with the seats, headliner, door panels and kick panels. No rips or tears to be found anywhere. Under the hood, the heart of this beast is a monster 468 Cu In Hemi producing over 600 horsepower. The motor has been completely rebuilt with Indy Aluminum heads and Indy intake. Sitting on top is a Holley double pumper 4bbl carb. Connected to the three speed automatic transmission, the car is a blast to drive and has no chance of keeping tread on the rear tires! The transmission is a 727 3 speed automatic with a 3200 stall convertor. This goes back to a 3.55 sure grip posi rear end which keeps the car very streetable and drivable. This drivetrain is only said to have around 1,500 miles on it. The sound of the car is incredible coming out of the stainless TTI headers and 3" exhaust. The car comes with the original window sticker along with the original owners manuals. The window sticker shows the car was originally sold in Winston Salem North Carolina for a price of $3,328.60. Currently the mileage shows 74,740 and is said to be original for the car. VIN number is RP23F71241539 and is being sold on a clean South Dakota title.
