All new for 1959 was the Buick Invicta replacing the Century. It featured a lower body, (3 inches lower on hardtop models) a higher roll center, wider track and power-steering unit. The full sized vehicle offered 5 different body styles ranging from a 2 door convertible to a 4 door station wagon. It was powered by a 401-cubic-inch engine with a longer stroke and wider bore than in 1958. The Invicta came equipped with standard features found in the Buick LeSabre plus Foamtex seat cushions, electric clock, deluxe steering wheel, full wheel covers and an instrument panel cover. This 1959 Buick Invicta 4 door "Flat Top" that was built in Canada and is being said to be one of 670 built at the Oshawa Ontario plant. What makes this vehicle even more rare is the way the color combination was ordered. Typically these vehicles come with a white flat top and a different color on the rest of the body. This particular vehicle was ordered with a copper top. Once the vehicle was sold to the second owner in California, the new owner became part of the Buick car club and at that point realized that this vehicle could possibly be a 1 of 1 because of the way it was painted. At that point the vehicle was dubbed "Copper Top". This vehicle is said to be nearly all original traveling only 44,000 meticulously maintained miles with just one repaint. The paint is in excellent condition with nor rust or rot to speak of. The chrome is in excellent condition for being original with minimal patina showing. The same goes for all the stainless moldings and front grill The Interior is said to be all original with no wear to speak of. The seats, dash, door panels, headliner are all in great shape. The instrument cluster shows no pitting on the chrome accents. The steering wheel is in great condition also. The power window option was ordered and still is in working order as well as the Sonomatic radio.Under the hood the vehicle still retains the desired 455 Wildcat engine attached to an Automatic transmission. The vehicle is equipped with the desired power steering and power brakes. The vehicle runs and drives beautifully.In the trunk the vehicle still retains the original spare tire, jack tools and matting.. Accompanying the sale of this rare vehicle is full documentation history from new and original owners pictured in the advertisement. The mileage currently shows 44,830 which is said to be original for the car and the VIN number is 9463903712. The car is being sold on a clean Texas title.
