Description

The 911 can trace its roots back to sketches drawn by Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche in 1959. The Porsche 911 classic was developed as a much more powerful, larger, more comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356, the company's first model. The new car made its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. The car presented at the auto show had a non-operational mockup of the 901 engine, receiving a working one in February 1964. In 1974 Porsche introduced the first production turbocharged 911. Although called simply Porsche 911 Turbo in Europe, it was marketed as Porsche 930 (930 being its internal type number) in North America. The body shape is distinctive thanks to wide wheel-arches to accommodate the wide tires, and a large rear spoiler often known as a "whale tail" on the early cars, and "tea-tray" on the later ones. Starting out with a 3.0 L engine 260 PS (190 kW; 260 hp), these early cars are known for their exhilarating acceleration coupled with challenging handling characteristics and extreme turbo lag. For 1978, capacity rose to 3.3 L 300 PS (220 kW; 300 hp), and an intercooler was added which was placed under the rear spoiler. This particular '82 Porsche 911 Turbo is a 51,000 original mile, 3 owner car that has been tastefully modified and extremely well maintained. With RUF body kit and body matching red Fuch wheels the car is striking to say the least. The turbo has recently been upgraded as well as the A/C being charged. Other upgrades include a front sway bar, Blaupunkt stereo and Kicker amp. The car comes with a clean Carfax showing the mileage is correct as well as no accidents. The paint on the car looks great with no major imperfections. There has been an aftermarket front spoiler added which looks great as well as the RUF boxed rocker panels. Both front and rear bumpers are free of any damage or major chipping. The car does have a power sunroof that works with no problems. Inside, the black leather interior looks great with no major imperfections. The seat bolsters on the front seats look great with only very minimal wear showing to the driver's side. The carpet, dash, door panels and headliner are all nearly perfect with no damage. All gauges are in good working order as well as the aftermarket boost gauges that works with no problems. Under the rear bonnet, the engine is very clean and original. The motor has always been meticulously maintained at Isringhausen Imports in Illinois. In 2006 when the car showed only 45,000 miles the turbo was upgraded to a new KKK K27 at a cost of $2,300 as well as the brake fluid being flushed. In 2000 when the car has 43,000 miles the car had a complete overhaul at a cost of over $11,000. During this service, oil lines were replaced, a complete overhaul of the brake system was done that included R&R of all rotors and calipers. The exhaust system was also replaced with a newer stainless steel system to improve air flow and the sound. Clutch, pressure plate and bearings were all replaced, any engine gaskets that were leaking were replaced, all new belts as well as replacing the battery. This car is as new and well maintained as you will probably find. Low mileage, religious maintenance, receipts and condition are all things that you look for in a car. This 930 has it all. There might be lower mileage cars out there but it is nearly impossible to find the upkeep and records that this car has. Mileage shows 51,290 and is original for the car. VIN number is WP0ZZZ93ZCS000885.
