Description

The Jeep Wagoneer created a whole new category of so-called sports-utility vehicles and its massive estate car design was the most car-like 4x4 that "defined the boxy, macho shape" copied by others. The Wagoneer was noteworthy for being in production for more than 28 years with only minor mechanical changes. This amounted to the longest continuous automotive production run, on the same platform, in US automotive history, excepting the Dodge Ram Van, in production for 32 years between 1971 and 2003, and the Ford C-Series truck, which had a 33-year run from 1957 to 1990. For 1990, both models got a new overhead console, new colors, and rear three-point seat belts; the Grand Wagoneer also got a flash-to-pass feature on the stalk headlight control, and side-marker turn signal flashes. A four-speed Borg-Warner automatic with full-time four wheel drive was standard for all Wagoner's - the newly retagged Limited and the Grand Wagoneer. Air conditioning was standard as well. At this point, the Wagoneers were established as luxury items. For Grand Wagoneer, buyer loyalty was 60%; 58% of buyers were college-educated, and buyers had a median income of $98,200 (that's around $160,000 in 2009 dollars). For Wagoneer Limited, the median income was the highest of any domestic model - $106,500 (over $173,000 for 2009). This particular '90 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a 48,000 original mile, 2 owner truck that is one of the nicest you will ever find. We purchased this truck directly from the second owner who purchased it on April 10th, 1992 when the truck showed only 12,482 miles. The black paint on the truck is in great condition and has a magnificent shine. All of the wood is in great condition all around as well as the black paint. There are a few small dings and chips to the front hood which is expected. Both front and rear bumpers are nearly perfect with no damage showing to either. There has been fog lights installed in the front All of the glass is in great condition with no chips or cracks. Inside, the tan interior is nearly spotless with no imperfections to speak of. The truck is fully optioned with dual power seats, windows, locks, remote mirrors, A/C, cruise control, power rear window and fog lights. The carpet, dash, headliner and seats all look great with no major wear. The carpet in the rear looks as good as it did when the truck was bought brand new and appears that nothing has ever been in the rear! All lights, blinkers, wipers, horn and gauges work with no problems as well as the A/C that blows ice cold. The truck retains its stock stereo system that works as well. Under the hood, the 5.9 liter V8 runs great and gives you tons of power. The motor is very clean with no visible damage or aftermarket parts. Turn the key and it starts right up with no smoking or rough idling. The truck runs very smooth and goes down the road straight, without issues. All of the Michelin tires are in very good condition and have good tread life left on them. The mileage currently shows 48,276 and is actual. We have a clean Autocheck in hand that shows that this is a true, two owner, original mileage truck with no accidents or issues. VIN number is 1J4GS5870LP507025.
