Description

The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coup with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's rival, the Triumph TR series. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. In the second half of 1974 the chrome bumpers were replaced altogether. A new, steel-reinforced black rubber bumper at the front incorporated the grille area as well, giving a major restyling to the B's nose, and a matching rear bumper completed the change. This particular 1976 MGB has been refinished in sought after Bracken (Muddy Orange) with black vinyl interior and black convertible top. The paint is in excellent condition as well as the beefed up bumpers. The rims and tires are in great shape with plenty of thread left on the tires. The interior looks to be newer with no wear showing on the seats. The carpets, door panels and dash are in great condition. The vehicle has been upgradeed with an aftermarket radio.Under the hood this vehicle is equipped with a 1798 cc engine making 94 hp and is attached to a 4 speed synchronized transmission that shifts smoothly. The clutch works with no problems. This vehicle has been beautifully maintained and it shows. In the trunk this vehicle has its original spare tire and jack and shows no sign of rust or rot. The undercarriage appears to be original with no apparent rust issues. It is clean and solid. The VIN is GHN5UG387507G and the odometer shows 70,430 and is believed to be original. The vehicle is being sold on a clean Oklahoma title.
