Description

You are looking at another one of a kind hot rod being offered by Motoexotica. This 1927 Ford Roadster is a custom build that was completed in early 2009. The car has a host of sprint car inspired parts on it that really set it off from the crowd. This is a proven show winner that has placed 2nd in its class at the Des Moines World of Wheels along with winning countless other shows. This build took over 3 years and nearly $30,000 to complete and it shows. The base coat/clear coat paint on the car is show quality and nearly perfect with no major imperfections to speak of. The Donny Wilson body is fiberglass but the rear and front nose are all steel. The steel hood and side panels are removable if desired. The car sits on a 1927 Ford frame with a narrowed Ford rear end with a classic straight axle leaf spring front end. The front grill is an original 1927 Ford grill. The red and gold flame job on the front is paint but the numbers are vinyl that can be removed if desired. The same goes for the Cheetah on the custom fuel tank. The pin striping in the rear is professionally done and looks great. Inside, the red vinyl looks great. The bucket seats are classic midget racing buckets that are a great touch to this little roadster. Other options include a Lokar shifter, turned dash, SW gauges, Norton steering column and adjustable seats. All of the vinyl is nearly perfect with no rips or tears that we have found. The same goes for the carpet and steering wheel. The windshield is free of any cracks or chips. Powering this little roadster is a Chevrolet Nova II 4 cylinder that has been completely rebuilt with performance parts. The pistons and rods are all out of a 327, the crank has been balanced, the cam and intake are both from Clifford and the carb is a Weber. The valve cover has been dressed up as well. Other options include stainless headers, new fuel pump, new wires and a Shroeder Steering gear that is frequently used in sprint cars. The motor goes back to a turbo 350 rear end that shifts with no problems. Don't let this little 4 banger fool you; it has a ton of grunt and torque with plenty of power to easily exceed any speed limit. The replica knock off's are a great touch and are wrapped with newer radial tires. The car does have front disc brakes with steel braided lines and the rear brakes are drums. The underside is protected by a full aluminum belly pan. The miles currently show 4,800 and the VIN number is 4852368. The car is being sold on a clean Iowa title.
