Description

Motoexotica is proud to offer another incredible street rod. The builder of this 1938 Dodge Club Coupe Street Rod followed a solid formula: take an all-steel shell, apply a full rotisserie clean-up and restoration to the main structure, then fill it and fit it with everything on a wish list of Street-proven equipment and drivetrain. Powering this '38 is a 550 horsepower 454 High Output crate motor fitted with dual quad carbs and Hedman headers which is nestled between the frame rails and hooked through a 400 Turbo to a Ford rear end. Air-supported Nova front suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes are hung with billet aluminum wheels and Michelins and the undercarriage detailed to a fare-thee-well. The entire affair is finished with a two-tone custom Red and Beige with custom Red leather inside. The result: a professionally built rod that, thanks to its Dodge Brothers roots and well-conceived design, has wide appeal. The paint on the car is nearly perfect. The car was done around 5 years ago and still presents itself as nice today as the day it was done. Both front and rear bumpers are in great condition and have been rechromed. The same goes for the headlights, grill and trim pieces. The body is all steel and incredibly solid. Both doors open and shut tight with an even gap all around. Inside, the red leather interior looks nearly perfect and shows no wear. The dash is completely custom with aluminum inserts that hold the full array of Classic Industries gauges. There has also been a Vintage A/C unit installed that works with no problems. The red leather steering wheel is from Billet Specialties and is connected to a tilt column. Above your head is where you will find controls for the AM/FM/CD radio, CB and built in K40 radar detector. Under the hood is crammed a monster 550 horsepower 454 big block V8 crate motor. This connected to the 400 transmission with 2500 stall makes the car a rocket on the road with its dual quads. The carbs are perfectly synced and are not over-fueling the motor like you find on many dual quad motors. The car does have power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes and A/C. With true dual exhaust, the car sounds great coming out of the Hedman headers into 3" stainless exhaust. The front suspension is from a Nova which makes the ride very smooth coupled with the air suspension in the rear. The underside of the car is highly detailed as you can see in the photos. The car has been driven, but also well taken care of. Other options include a power trunk that can be operated from inside the car or from a switch under the bumper. The trunk is nicely carpeted and finished with red leather to match the interior. The wheels are from Billet Specialties and look great. They are wrapped with newer 195/75 R14 radials in the front and monster 32x11.5 R15 radials in the rear. This is truly a no expenses spared custom street rod that would take nearly $100,000 to reproduce today. It was built to drive and not just a trailer queen that is taken from show to show. VIN number is 30064363 and the car is being sold on a clean Oklahoma title.
