In 1977 Corvette's refinement as a touring sports car continued as both power steering and power brakes became standard and new options included body-colored sport mirrors, cruise control, and a new convenience group. The black exterior paint color returned (last offered in 1969) as well. Unchanged was the horsepower ratings for both base and L-82 engines which was 180 and 210 respectively. Early in production, the engine paint color was changed from Chevy orange to corporate blue. The "Stingray" script, seen on front fenders since 1969 disappeared, but new cross-flags emblems began appearing on fenders before the model year ended. Windshield posts were now painted black for a "thin pillar" look and this was the final year of the "sugar scoop" tunneled roof-line and vertical back window. A Corvette milestone was reached during 1977 as Chevrolet had built a half million Corvettes since production began in 1953.Originally purchased in Wrightsville Georgia for $9,976.58, the car came loaded with options which included, most importantly, the L-82 engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. Other options included Power windows, rear defogger, four season A/C, sport mirrors, tilt-telescoping wheel, heavy duty battery, AM/FM/tape stereo, Corvette black exterior and Buckskin leather interior. Included with the car is copies of the original car invoice, dealer option sheet, copy of the original title and copy of the build sheet. With only 47,000 original miles, the car is a true timepiece and has only been through one repaint its entire life. The Corvette Black paint is in great condition and is newer within the last few years. The front and rear bumpers both look great with no cracking or damage. The chrome luggage rack in the rear is equally as nice. The T-tops go on and off with no issues and don't appear to leak. Inside, the interior appears to be all original. The Buckskin leather seats look great with only some very minor blemishes showing. The dash looks good as does the carpet, door panels and headliner. All gauges are in good working order as well as the lights, blinkers, wipers and horn. There has been an aftermarket JVC AM/FM stereo installed which also works with no problems. Under the hood boasts the rare and desired matching numbers L-82 engine with a close ratio 4-speed transmission making this very desirable to investors or enthusiast vehicle. The carb is the original Rochester 4bbl. This is also an original A/C car which works with no problems and blows ice cold! Other options under the hood include power steering and power brakes.
