The Buick Century Caballero Estate Wagon was positioned by Buick near the upper end of the market. It featured the unique Buick styling cues, powered by the Century's powerful V8 engines, and given a long list of amenities and luxury items. They were quick and refined machines. However, the Caballero was produced for only a short time, lasting from 1957 through 1958. The car had high construction costs which resulted in Buick canceling the Caballero along with the Century name the following year. The Century nameplate would be later revived and adorned on Buick vehicles while the Caballero name has laid dormant. This particular '57 Buick Caballero has received an extensive, custom restoration to bring it to the standards you see today. With its custom purple and white two tone exterior, the car is very unique and will draw more attention then you could ever want. The body is very solid and straight with all of the chrome in excellent condition with the exception of the front bumper which does have some peeling to the lower, passenger side as you can see in the photos. Inside, the white vinyl interior looks great. The front buckets seats are nicely upholstered and show no major wear. The rear seat is equally as nice and shows no wear or staining to the white vinyl. The custom kick panels, door panels and headliner are all in great condition with no major wear. The purple carpet appears to be new, like the rest of the interior. There has been an updated AM/FM/CD player installed in the glove box as well as switches that control neon lights underneath the car and the power antenna. Under the hood, the 502 Cu In V8 runs great and is nicely detailed. With power steering, power brakes and A/C, the car is a joy to drive. The big block has been nicely detailed with chrome valve covers, air cleaner, polished A/C compressor, alternator and Edelbrock carb. The engine bay has been painted to match the exterior of the car. The A/C does blow cold and works with no problems. The underside of the car is very solid with no holes that we have seen to the floors. The underside has been undercoated to prevent any rust in the future. The VIN number is 4D2031151 and the current mileage shows 8,409. This is an awesome hardtop wagon that is rarely seen and is sure to bring home trophies at all of your local car shows.
