Description

The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle and Chevrolet Malibu line was tilted more heavily than ever in favor of Malibu models. In fact, the only model offered to start the model year were Malibus. The 1970 Chevrolet Malibu came in a variety of versions: Sport Coupe, Sport Sedan, convertible, and four-door sedan -- along with a pair of Super Sport upgrades. Later in the model year came a basic 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, essentially a revival of the former 300 Deluxe; it was offered only as a Sport Coupe and sedan. Engine choices ranged from the standard 155-horsepower six-cylinder and 200-horsepower 307-cubic-inch V-8, to a pair of 350 V-8s and a 330-horsepower 400. New options included power door locks and a stalk-mounted wiper control. Sheetmetal revisions gave the bodies a more squared-up stance, and interiors were redesigned, too. Both SS 396 and SS 454 option packages were available for either the Sport Coupe or convertible. Of the 354,855 Chevelles issued this year, 53,599 had an SS option and 3,733 had the 454-cubic-inch V-8.This particular 1970 Malibu is finished in its original colors of Cranberry red with a black bucket seat interior. The car comes complete with all of the SS396 badging along with a monstrous 454 Cu In V8 under the hood. This car is set up to go FAST with all of the right options. Rear sway bar, disc brake front, power steering, power brakes, 12 bolt rear end and Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro rear tires. The paint on the car is newer and looks great. No major imperfections to be found anywhere around the car with the exception of some very light scratches and dings. Both front and rear bumpers are in great condition with no damage or pitting. The steel cowl hood is a great addition to the car and looks great. Both doors shut tight and with little effort. The trunk shuts tight as well with even gaps all around. Inside, the correct black interior looks great with on major wear to be found. The carpet is new as well as the newly upholstered seats. Both of which are in good condition with only some minor fading to the carpet. There is no cracking to the dash. All gauges are in good working order as well as the headlights. There has been a set of under dash gauges installed that show oil pressure and water temperature. The wipers have been removed but the studs are still in place to put wipers on if desired. Under the hood the 454 big block runs great. Fed with a Holley double pumper 4bbl carb and Edelbrock intake the car has a ton of horsepower. Coming out of the headers through the dual exhaust, the car has a wonderful sound and is what a true muscle car should sound like. Connected to the three speed automatic transmission, the car is set up for the street or the strip and goes down the road with no problems. Shifting is done with a B&M Megashifter which works with no problems. This is a great driving car that has tons of power and is a blast to drive. Finished in the most desirable color of red with black stripes and black interior, the car is sure to draw all the attention that you could ever want. The car currently shows 84,612 miles and the VIN number is 136370K190300. Car is being sold on a clean Illinois title.
