Description

In 1957 the Triumph TR3A was introduced as a replacement for its predecessor, the TR3. The 3A featured improved design and mechanics. In 1959, Triumph produced 21,298 cars; all but 100 were built for export market. The car used a twin SU carburetor version of the 1991cc four cylinder standard Vanguard engine tuned to increase its output to 90 horsepower. With the overdrive fitted, the car could reach a maximum speed of 108 mpg and return 33 miles per gallon. The TR3A, built for the American Market, became a great sports racer because of its low cost, speed, durability, handling and ease to maintain. TR3's enjoyed much success in competition rallies including the Coupe Des Alpes in 1958. Finished in white with red interior, this beautifully maintained TR3 has been lovingly cared for for many years and came out of a prominent auto museum. The car has gone through a restoration many years ago but still looks very good. The paint is in good condition overall with no major imperfections. There are some scratches and chips to the body that are expected from age but none are major. The front stainless bumper is in great condition and with no major imperfections. The same goes for the rear. This is a very solid body with no bubbling. The car comes with both side curtains as well as the soft top and boot cover. All of which are in great condition. Inside, the interior looks great and has been reupholstered. The seats are both free of any wear or tears and look great with the white piping. They are finished in the same color burgundy as the carpet which is equally as nice, but loose in a few places. All gauges are in good working order as well as the lights, blinkers, horn and wipers. All interior dash lights work with no problems as well. The dash is finished in the matching burgundy and looks very good with no buckling in the vinyl. The steering wheel is wrapped but feels solid under the cover. Under the hood is very clean and the little 4 cylinder runs great. The motor is nicely detailed with chrome air cleaners and valve cover. The engine bay is nicely finished as well and shows no signs of damage. The motor is nicely painted and detailed and has all new correct decals. The underside of the car is very solid with no rot that we have found. All of the wheels are in good condition and have newer chrome hubcaps. They are wrapped with newer radials that all have good tread life left on them. This is a great driving little car that currently shows only 48,308 miles. The VIN number is TS44101L. The car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.
