Description

The 1950-1953 era was a significant one for Oldsmobile. Sales were artificially low in 1951 and 1952 due to government restrictions in place for the Korean War, but at the end of this stretch, Oldsmobile saw large increases in sales fueled mostly by the popular Rocket engine introduced in 1953. The Oldsmobile 98 was the top of the line Olds that you could buy at the time and was loaded with options. This particular Olds 98 two door hardtop is finished in its original colors of Lotus Cream with a Glade Green top and a Green / Ivory interior. The paint on the car is in great condition with no major imperfections to be found. The car has been resprayed in its original colors sometime in the last few years and still retains a very good shine. At the time of the repaint, all rubber was replaced between the body and the fenders. All of the stainless and chrome on the car looks great. Both bumpers are in very good condition with only some minor scratches showing from age. The car does have fender skirts as well as factory tinted glass. Inside, the interior retains its original colors of green and ivory. The new vinyl is in excellent condition throughout the car and shows only very minimal wear. The carpet is new as well as the door panels, kick panels, headliner and seats. All of which are in great condition and show no major wear. The car is loaded with features inside like autotronic eye, power windows, AM radio with rear seat speaker, power steering and power brakes. All gauges are in good working order as well as the lights and wipers. Under the hood, the Rocket V8 runs great. The car is extremely smooth and has plenty of power out on the open road. These big Oldsmobile 98's cruise down the highway at 60 mph with no problems or issues. With the Hydra-Matic transmission, the car is an absolute joy to drive and shifts with no problems. We have recently had the car on a 50 mile trip with absolute no problems. The body matching wheels come with full size Oldsmobile hubcaps and are wrapped with wide white bias ply tires that are all in good condition. The underside of the car is very solid and has been lightly undercoated to prevent any rust in the future. In the trunk, you will find it nicely carpeted and with a full size spare and jack. The current mileage shows 11,822 and the VIN number is 539M22856. The car is being sold on a clean Wisconsin title showing that the previous owner has had the car since early in 2007.
