Description

The Caprice was renamed the Caprice Classic for 1973, a year highlighted by a new cross-hatch grille over the new 5 mph energy absorbing front bumper and revised square taillights, again mounted in the bumper. A convertible, brought over from the lesser Impala series, was moved to the Caprice lineup for the first time in 1973. This particular car, with only 34,000 miles, is a very original car that is finished in its original colors of yellow with a white vinyl interior and white top. On the road, the car drives great and floats down the road with no problem. This has been a very well kept car through the years and has obviously been cared for and stored in a garage its entire life. The car has benefited from a recent respray in its original color of yellow but retains its original convertible top. There are no major imperfections to the exterior of the car which is very solid and free of any bubbling or rot. The front and rear chrome bumpers have a beautiful shine with no dents or pitting and no visible scratches. The power convertible top does work with no problems. The top does seal and shut and works like a charm. Inside the original white vinyl seats with medium wood trim interior looks great. The dash is solid with no cracking and in great condition. The steering wheel does not show any wear as you can see in the photos. The front seat is in good, solid condition with no tears and looks wonderful. It is power and all functions work with no problems. Both arm rests look good with no major wear to the either side. Carpet is in good condition with no staining or tears. All lights, blinkers, wipers and horn work with no problems. The engine is a great running 400 Cu In. V8 that you could drive cross country. With a turn of the key the car starts right up with no hesitation and runs out great with no problems. The car shifts with no problems and will cruise on the highway at comfortable speeds. The radial tires are newer with the steel Chevrolet hubcaps, which are in good overall condition. In the power trunk there is a full size spare and jack with original matting there are no signs of rust to be found. The under body is also clean with no rot that we have found. The mileage shows 34,810 miles and the VIN is 1N67R3S217269. This car is in excellent original condition and has always garaged and maintained, and will speak for itself! The car belonged to an enthusiast that owned it most of its life. These big convertible Chevrolet's are becoming incredibly popular and harder to find in this kind of original condition.
