Description

By 1954 the Super and Roadmaster models shared with Cadillac the new General Motors C-body. These were big, roomy cars, as much as five and a half inches longer in wheelbase and more than nine inches longer overall than their 1953 counterparts. Of the Model 72 Roadmaster Four Door Sedan's, only 11,804 were produced. This particular car is an almost completely original example of one of those cars. With only 34,484 original miles, the car is a time capsule! Finished in its original color combination of Carlsbad Black and Seminole Red, the exterior of the car is remarkable for being 54 years old. We have recently buffed the car out and is still retains the same shine it did when it came out of the showroom. The car was professionally stripped to bare metal and resprayed around 5 years ago and looks great. The repaint was done on a nearly perfect body with no rust to be found. The previous owner stated that no body filler had to be used during the repaint. The only imperfection to the paint that we have found is a very small bit of peeling around the stainless trunk trim. All of the stainless and chrome on the car looks great and shows no major signs of pitting. The majority of the steel trim is original for the car, only a few pieces have been replaced due to small imperfections. All body panels are original for the car. The weather stripping and rubber are all original and show no cracking or weathering.Inside, the interior is almost all original. Finished in its original combination of black and red, the seats, carpet, headliner and dash are all nearly perfect with no imperfections. The black Daytona weave carpet is original for the car as well as the headliner, bows and door panels. The seats have been recovered in the original combination of red and black vinyl which looks great. All gauges are in good working order with the exception of the clock. The original AM radio works, but the antenna has been disconnected. Lights, blinkers, horn and vacuum wipers all work with no issues as well as the 6 way power driver's seat. Under the hood, the 322 Cu In V8 is original for the car and runs like a 34,000 mile car should. Turn the key and push down on the starter and the car starts up with no issues or hesitation. The motor is nicely detailed to its original look with no aftermarket products ever being put on the car. The car does come with power steering and power brakes but not A/C. The underside of the car is extremely solid with no rot that we have found. The car has been undercoated to prevent any future problems. The current mileage shows 34,484 and is original for the car. VIN number is 7C3056427. The 50's Buicks have always been known for their smooth driving. With only 34,000 original miles, you won't find a smoother or nicer driving Buick out there. Put all your friends in the back and take the car on your favorite cruise or local car show. It is guaranteed to please.
