Description

In 1967 the Mustang had seen its first major redesign. The car was bigger and more powerful than ever before. In 1968 newly introduced Federal regulations mandated front and back side markers on the car. This, alone, made it easier to determine a 1967 Mustang from a 1968. Other firsts for the 1968 Mustang included a suspended mirror which was attached to the windshield. In previous years, mirrors were attached to the vehicle frame. The 1968 model also featured the word "Mustang" in script style lettering instead of block letters, and the word "FORD" was removed from the hood of the car. This particular car is an 82,000 original mile convertible that has been with the same owner for the last 7 years and is loaded with options. The car is finished in its original colors of white with parchment interior and black power top. Options include power steering, power disc brakes, power top, alloy wheels, automatic transmission and a rebuilt 289 Cu In V8. The paint is in very good condition and shows nicely. The car has gone through an older cosmetic restoration a number of years ago. The power soft top is in great condition and shows no rips, tears or staining. The front and rear bumpers are both in excellent shape and appear to be the originals for the car. With a new black power top, a C4 automatic transmission and the 289 c.i.V8 under the hood, this car is a blast to drive on those beautiful summer days with the top down. The seats and interior are finished in the original color of parchment and appears to be all original with the exception of the carpet which is new. The seats look good and show no major wear to them, there is a small split in the seam on the driver's side seat, as you can see in the photo. The carpet looks great with no staining, rips or tears. All the lights, blinkers, and wipers work with no issues. The engine is a 289 ci V8 that has been updated with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, chrome Ford Racing valve covers, and an MSD ignition coil. The engine is highly detailed and looks great under the hood, it has also been recently rebuilt. The 3 speed automatic transmission shifts with no known problems and makes this car a blast to drive. The floors and sub frame are both solid with no rot that we have found. In the trunk, there is original style matting along with a full size spare and jack. The alloy wheels look good and are in great overall condition. They are wrapped with P185/70 R14 radial tires that have good tread life left on them. The odometer shows 82,333 which is believed to be actual. The VIN# is 8F03C181035. Use the car as a daily driver or simply for weekends and cruise nights. Whatever your desire, the car is sure to please.
