Description

By 1971 the Ford Mustang had grown 8 inches longer and 6 inches wider then the original 1965 model. The Mustang was now a full fledge muscle car moving beyond the 2+2 market niche it created. Engine choices ranged from six cylinder economy to the mighty 429 Super Cobra Jet V8. Starting in 1973 though, many forces were converging to signal a change from the fast and furious start of the 2 + 2. Soaring gas and insurance costs and the addition of emissions and safety equipment brought the muscle car era to an end and Ford began positioning the Mustang as more of a luxury car. The end of 1973 would begin a hiatus for both the V8 engine and the convertible. This 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible has both. A healthy 351 V8 under the hood with a power convertible top is everything you need in this original Arizona car. The car's paint job consists of a beautiful blue with white stripes on the hood of the car, there has been over $6,000 invested into the paint alone! The paint is in very good condition with very little to no blemishes, there are a few minor rock chips near the front grille and hood which are expected from a car that is or could be driven daily. The outside of the car looks even better with the white convertible top, which has no rips or tears and shows no staining. The front bumper on the car has been painted to match the rest of the car, and shows only a few minor chips or cracks in the paint. The rear bumper looks to have been re-chromed and shows no blemishes or pitting or the chrome, it retains a fantastic shine and luster. The interior of the car sports white matching door panels to accentuate and brighten up the inside, as well as the matching white hi-back seats. The center console is aftermarket with built in speakers on the sides, and a controller for the aftermarket 6 CD changer that is hidden in the trunk. The factory radio still remains in the dashboard but is wired to a 6 disc CD changer, which gives it a very unique old school look with new school capabilities. The factory gauges on the car remain in place and all function properly, as well as some new aftermarket gauges that have been added to the instruments selection which includes a tachometer, water temperature gauge, volt meter, and an oil pressure gauge. The original steering wheel has also been replaced by a Grant GT performance steering wheel. The car is powered by a 351 c.i. Cleveland V8 under the hood that has been recently rebuilt and upgraded. The engine performs well with the MSD ignition control module and the MSD distributor, add the Holley double pumper carburetor on top of this entire package and you begin to understand why this car screams. To help keep this car on the road, it is equipped with power steering and power brakes. The underside of the car is very solid, with rebuilt suspension components and upgraded wheels, the car sits on American Racing Thrust wheels wrapped in Azenis 235/45 R17 on all four corners, all four tires look newer and show very little wear. The VIN# is 3F03H211285 and the odometer reads 56,409. The car is being sold on a clean Arizona title.
