Description

For 1957, Cadillac adopted a tubular X-frame, without side rails, on all models. This resulted in greater structural rigidity and provided for lower body lines without loss of useable space. New front end styling was marked by rubber bumper guard tips and dual, circular parking lamps set into the lower bumper section. Side trim was revised and a dual taillight theme was used throughout the line. By utilizing different center frame sections the wheelbases and overall lengths of specific body styles was altered. In the 62 lineup, including the Eldorado sub-series, three different overall measurements appeared on cars with matching wheelbases. This '57 Deluxe Coupe Deville has benefited from an older restoration on a straight body solid frame. The red paint looks good overall but is older and starting to be thin in a few places. While the body is very straight it does have some cosmetic flaws as to be expected from a 53 year old vehicle. The chrome and stainless going around the car is good overall with only some minor dings and dents showing. The front and rear bumpers are equally as nice with no major damage to either. They both retain a very good shine and luster. The car does come with a continental kit with full size spare. The interior has been completely reupholstered and looks great in its white and red combination. The front and rear seats show no major wear and are in great condition. The door panels are equally as nice and are finished in the matching material as the seats. Carpet is all new and looks very good as well as the padded dash and headliner. The headliner does show a few very small, light stains. All gauges appear to be in good working order as well as the light, blinkers, vacuum wipers and horn button. All power windows work as they should.Under the hood, the original 300 horsepower, 365 Cu In V8 runs great. The motor does have the VIN number stamped on the front of the block to show that it is original for the car. The motor has been nicely painted and shows very well. The car does come with standard power steering and power brakes. On the road, the car drives very well with no pulling to either side under braking. The underside has been undercoated but does show a few small holes in the floors. The frame is solid along with the frame supports. The trunk is nicely finished in black carpet which looks very good. There is also a full size spare. Under the carpet is solid with no holes or rot to the trunk floor. The current mileage shows 30,192 and the VIN number is 5762070251. The car is being sold on a clean Texas title.
