Description

For 1955, Chevrolet's full-size model received new styling that earned it the "Hot One" designation by enthusiasts. Unlike Ford and Plymouth, Chevrolet's styling was considered crisp and clean. Bel Airs came with features found on cars in the lower models ranges plus interior carpet, chrome headliner bands on hardtops, chrome spears on front fenders, chrome window moldings, and full wheel covers. Models were further distinguished by the Bel Air name script in gold lettering. The 1957 Bel Air is among the most recognizable American cars of all time; well-maintained examples, especially Sport Coupes and Convertibles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. They are roomy, fuel-efficient, with tastefully restrained, period use tail fins and chrome. This '57 Bel Air two door hardtop was originally manufactured in Canada but has since been imported to the United States. Finished in a striking red with white top, the car is in fantastic condition and has been updated with a 350 Cu In V8 and 4 speed transmission. The body on the car is extremely straight with only a slight bit of bubbling behind the front, drivers side wheel. This spot is about the size of a pencil eraser. The steel trim around the car looks great and has a great shine to it. No major damage shows to any of it. The same goes for the front and rear bumpers which both look great. Glass is good with no chips or cracks. Inside, the interior is all new and looks wonderful. Finished in the original style of red and black, the seats are nearly perfect with no major wear to be found. The matching door panels and headliner are both equally as nice with no major wear. There has been an aftermarket oil pressure gauge installed as well as a temperature gauge in the dash. Both of which work with no problems. Lights, blinkers and wipers all work with no issues as well as the horn. Under the hood, there has been a new 350 Cu In V8 installed which is mated to a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission. The engine is very clean with no previous damage to be found. There has been Edelbrock valve covers installed as well as an Edelbrock breather to dress up the motor. The motor has been nicely painted and shows well. In the trunk, you will find original rubber style trunk matting along with a full size spare and jack. The underside of the car has benefited from a new, one piece floor pan. The structural pieces underneath like the floors, frame and main supports are all solid. This is a wonderful driving car that has benefited from a very nice restoration. The American Racing Wheels and newer radial tires look great and make the ride very smooth. The current mileage shows 30,180 and the VIN number is 71037D640846 which shows that it was manufactured in Canada. The car is being sold on a clean Kansas title.
