Description

In 1969, the Chevrolet Blazer was designed and marketed to compete with International Harvester Scout and the Ford Bronco. Both of these were originally aimed at the short Jeep CJ series, which were much smaller than other trucks. The great innovation of the Blazer was to simply offer a shortened pickup truck, which both increased interior space, and lowered the cost of production with a shared platform. The Blazer quickly became popular. For the first time, it married the off-road capabilities of the Scout with the "luxury" features like air conditioning and automatic transmissions routinely available on pickup trucks. By 1970, the Blazer was already outselling both of its older rivals. Ford, Dodge, and even Jeep would counter with similar shortened pickups, with the Dodge Ramcharger and Jeep Cherokee. This particular Blazer has had a complete, body off custom that was done to the highest degree. We have a one inch folder that is full of receipts and records for this truck starting in 2001. They total almost $20,000 WITHOUT the price of the truck! This truck is completely new from top to bottom and is a blast to drive with its built big block 454 V8 with turbo 400 transmission. This is an extremely fast revving engine that was built with only the best parts. They started with a very solid '72 Chevy Blazer and completely disassembled the truck. All panels were disassembled and painted individually. The rear tailgate was also smoothed and a new rear roll pan replaced the standard rear bumper. A new front grill was also installed and painted black to match the rest of the body. This is a very straight truck that had almost $11,000 in paint and body work spent on it to bring it up to its show standards. The removable soft top is a great touch and goes off and on with no problems. The sides and rear panel all fold up and snap secure. Inside the truck is all new. The vinyl bucket seats look great as well as the new carpet and door panels which are finished in the same pattern as the seats. The truck has an updated Pioneer sound system that sounds incredible with custom speaker enclosures molded into the side panels in the rear as well as on the kick panels in front. All gauges are in good working order with no pitting on the chrome trim and are new. All lights, blinkers, and gauges work with no problems as well as the wipers. Under the hood, the built 454 big block runs great and is extremely clean. The truck currently shows just over 5,200 miles and that is since the build. That is the mileage on the motor as well. The 454 is connected to a 400 turbo transmission that is freshly rebuilt like the motor. The rear end is a Dana 60. The parts list under the hood is extensive on this black beauty. The main components consist of a Holley 830cfm 4bbl carb, Edelbrock intake, K&N filter, A/C, power steering and power brakes. The underside of the truck is very clean and has been coated with a layer of undercoating to prevent any rust. The floors are very solid. All the suspension has been replaced and gone through. This is an awesome truck that has had a ton of money invested. A one inch binder full of receipts come with the truck. Current mileage shows 5,210 and the VIN number is CKC182S123231.
