Description

Chevrolet's distinctive Aerosedan was one of the most popular cars of the immediate postwar era. The unforgettable "torpedo" shape of the Aerosedan became an icon with the American public through movies, television, magazines, advertising billboards, and, of course, everyday exposure on the streets, roads, and highways of the U.S.A. In the modern age, it has also endeared itself to rodders, customizers, low rider enthusiasts, and vintage racing fans, not to mention classic auto restorers. This particular 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan is a fantastic, mostly original example of one of these rarely seen cars. The paint on the car is newer within the last 3 years and looks great. There are no major imperfections that we have found to the solid body which is said to be all of the original body panels. The front and rear bumpers both look good but do show some minor pitting and scratches along with a few dings. They are original for the car and very presentable. The trim and bright work around the car looks very good with no damage showing. Both door shut tight and line up fine. Inside, the interior looks great and has been reupholstered within the last few years. The front and rear bench seats both look very good and show no major wear. The same goes for the headliner and door panels which are both new and look great. There is one spot on the carpet where it has faded a bit just behind the drivers side front seat as you can see in the photos. The dash looks great with no cracking or fading but the steering wheel, which is original for the car, is starting to crack. The original radio is in the trunk and in included with purchase. All lights work as well as the wipers. Under the hood, the six cylinder runs great and starts up with ease. On the road, the car has plenty of power and mated with the three speed manual transmission, the car is a joy to drive, even at highway speeds. There has been a new manifold installed recently as well as new plug wires, spark plugs and 6 volt battery. The underside of the car is extremely solid with no rot that we have seen. The same goes for the trunk which includes a full size spare and jack. The VIN number on the car is FAA118037 and is being sold on a clean Wyoming title showing that the previous owner has had the car since 2001.
