This was the car for many American icons including Lucille Ball, Robert Goulet, Johnny Cash, Lou Brock - and even the King himself Elvis Presley. While this was not the same Stutz Blackhawk purchased by Elvis, an Elvis impersonator did own this car to complete the act for the last six years.The extra heavy steel bodies were made in Torino, Italy, and the frame on this particular Stutz you see is a Pontiac Grand Prix SJ. The hand-built Blackhawks had nearly 22 hand-rubbed lacquer paint coats that took six weeks to apply. Each vehicle took almost 1,500 man hours to craft. Freestanding headlamps and a spare tire which protruded through the deck lid were notable designs special to the Blackhawk. Interiors had 24-carat gold-plated trim and burled walnut.This '76 Blackhawk in our showroom showcases a wonderful black exterior with no major imperfections to note. The spare tire which protrudes the trunk is protected in a vinyl wrap. The four white wall Dimension IV tires sit on Stutz chrome wire wheels. The chrome bright work is in nice condition and will glisten in the afternoon sun or from the street lights during a night on the town. The trunk is correctly lined with what appears to be a material similar to imitation mink fur. The interior is in excellent overall condition and shows no major signs of wear or age. The dash is topped in red vinyl with burled walnut face. The Stutz gauges are in both English and Italian and are operable. The center console is also the burled walnut. You will not find a more unique '70s style car than this Stutz Blackhawk. With so many prominent celebrities to own this model, it will make a great addition to any collection.The engine is a big-block 455-CID Rocket V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission.
