Description

A Huckster or peddler used these trucks to sell small items such as fruits and vegetables to neighborhoods around cities and towns just as the horse and wagons did before them. They became know as Peddlers Wagons. Henry Ford did not make these on his production lines. Manufacturers would buy the engine and chassis from Ford and furnish what was needed themselves, usually of wood that they could do themselves, such as mail trucks. Because of the high cost of crating and shipping overseas countries such as Australia and New Zealand bought the engine and chassis and made their own cabs and commercial bodies. Many unique vehicles exist there today. This particular 1929 Ford Model A Huckster is a freshly restored classic that is ready for weekend fun or advertising your business. The black paint on the truck looks great and has been recently buffed which brought out a great shine. The wood body is very solid and straight with no major imperfections. There has been a cloth curtain installed around the rear which looks great. The curtain attaches to each side with push snaps. This is a fiberglass fender truck with steel hood and cowl. The front bumper is in good condition with no damage. The vinyl roof looks good with no tears or damage. Inside, the vinyl seats looks great and shows no holes or tears. The gauges all work with no issues, even the speedometer and odometer. Currently the truck shows only 843 miles, which is since restoration. The interior looks completely new and the steering wheel is solid with no cracking. All the lights work from the control located below the dash on the drivers side kick panel. The four cylinder runs great and starts up with no problems. On the road the truck is smooth and has plenty of power. Transmission shifts as a Model A should. The truck has a comfortable driving speed of around 45 mph so getting around town is no problem. The motor is very clean with many new parts. Exhaust is new as well as the carb, plugs and wires. The motor has no leaks and only drips a very slight bit, as all Model A's and T's do. The wire wheels are wrapped with newer white wall bias ply tires that look great and have tons of tread life left on them. The truck is still on the original 6 volt system. The underside of the truck is extremely solid and looks great. The leaf spring suspension is new in the front and back and gives you a smooth ride. The current mileage on the truck is 843 which is actual since the restoration 2 years ago. The VIN number is 1480692 and the truck is being sold on a clean Texas title.
