Description

The Ford Bronco sat atop a small 92 inch wheelbase which made it suitable for off-road excursions. Its body, frame and suspension were all new and did not share with any other vehicles. The brakes and axles were courtesy of the Ford F-100 trucks. The rear suspension had leaf springs in a Hotchkiss design. Coil springs were used which gave the Bronco an anti-dive geometry which came in handy during snowplowing. The front axle was connected by leading arms and a lateral track bar. A heavy duty suspension was available, but at an additional cost. The design was simple with flat glass, no-frills bumpers, and a square body. The $2194 base price included front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. An auxiliary gas tank, snowplow, winch, tow bar, posthole digger, campers, overdrive units, and an array of tires and wheels were also available. Improvements for the 1976 Ford Bronco were increased front axle capacity, an optional front stabilizer bar, optional power front disc brakes, and faster-ratio power steering. Solid-state ignition was introduced during the 1976 model run, as was a Special Decor Group with a blacked-out grille, wide body side tape stripes, and other trim accents. Bronco production improved to 13,625.This particular 1976 Bronco has gone through a complete, frame off restoration to make it what you see today. The paint on the truck is finished in a custom white, orange and tan color scheme that looks great. With he addition of fender flares and a new fiberglass cowl hood the truck looks great. It's set up just aggressive enough for off road use but not raised up high enough that you can't get in and out of it. It also won't bounce you out of the truck going down the road! The body is extremely solid and straight. Both doors shut as they should with no sagging when opened. The soft top on the truck is brand new and looks great. It seals tight all the way around the truck and can be removed by one person with little effort. Bumpers in the front and rear are new, painted tubular with twin KC lights in the front. Inside, the seats have all been recovered in soft vinyl that looks great. There is a full roll cage inside that has been painted to match the bumpers in dark blue. The cage wraps around the entire interior of the truck. The carpet is new as well as all the gauges from Auto Meter. All of which work with no problems as well as all lights, blinkers and wipers. The Sony AM/FM/CD player works as well and sounds great coming from the aftermarket speakers throughout the truck. Under the hood is a brand new 302 crate motor that runs great. When you open the hood, the entire engine compartment looks like new. The truck comes with power steering and power disc brakes which makes driving this beauty that much more enjoyable. Fed through an Edelbrock 4bbl carb and intake, this truck moves. Estimated horsepower is going to be around 300 and it shows when you mash your right foot to the floor. With headers going into a full stainless Borla exhaust system that truck has a great rumble to it. We are not sure how many miles are on the new motor, but estimate it less then 5,000 on the entire truck and motor since the build. Underneath, the truck is very solid and shows no rot that we can see. As you can see, there are many new suspension pieces from Rancho as well as new bushings. The front axle is a Heavy Duty Dana 44 with locking hubs. The aluminum wheels are wrapped with 32" Kumho Road Venture MT's that are brand new. It will be tough to get this little Bronco stuck! The current mileage shows 4,527 and the VIN number U15GLA75380. The truck is being sold on a clean Arkansas title.
