Description

All full size General Motors vehicles were designated as "B-body" models during the 1971 - 1975 model run. Both the Catalina and Grandville were available as convertibles in 1971 and 1972, but after that the Grandville was Pontiac's only convertible. The last Grandville convertible was made in 1975. Standard equipment on Grand Ville models included a 455 cubic-inch V8 engine (1971-74 models, 400 cubic inch V8 standard and 455 optional for 1975), Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission, power steering and power front disc brakes. Popular options included air conditioning, power windows and driver's seat, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, AM/FM stereo with tape deck and much more. Grand Ville convertibles were rare in the years from 1971 to 1975 never topping 5000 rag tops per year during the model run. The rarest of the rare Grand Ville rag tops was the 1971 model with just 1,784 examples built. One of those 1,784 cars is being offered by us today. This '71 Grand Ville comes with new paint and interior to make it look as good as it did back in 1971. The paint on the car looks great and has been resprayed within the past five years. The only minor spots of imperfections that we have found are some minor rock chips to the front of the car. There is also a scratch to the rear trunk. No major spots of filler are to be found on the body which is extremely solid. The white convertible top is in very good condition with on major staining, rips or holes. The glass rear window is solid and in good condition. All top functions work with no problems and it goes up and down with a flick of a switch. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in excellent condition with no damage to either. The chrome looks great with no major pitting. Inside, the carpet is all new and looks great. It fits tight and is not pulling away anywhere. The dash is solid with no cracking or splits. The rear seat looks original for the car and is in excellent condition. The front seat has been recovered and looks very good with the exception of one small imperfection to the seat back as you can see in the photos. All lights, blinkers, wipers and horn work with no problems. The car just went through a Texas State Safety Inspection and has the inspection sticker on the windshield. All power windows work with no problems. Under the hood, the big 455 Cu In V8 is very clean and original. The car does have A/C which does blow cool. Heat also works. On the road the car drives like it did when it was new. Very straight and goes down the road with no problems, even at highway speeds. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car across town or the country! The underside of the car is very solid with no rot that we have found. We purchased this car out of Texas where it has been for the last 5 years. This is a great B-body convertible that is guaranteed to give the new owner many years of top down happiness. The current mileage shows 10,682 and the VIN number is 268671X320521. The car is being sold on a clean Texas title showing that the previous owner has had the car since January of 2005.
