Description

Cadillac's were restyled and re-engineered for 1961. The new grille slanted back towards both the bumper and the hood lip along the horizontal plane and sat between quad headlamps. New forward slanting front roof pillars with non-wraparound windshield glass was seen. The revised rear window treatment had crisp, angular lines with thin pillars on some models and heavier, semi-blind-quarter roof posts on others. A new short-deck sedan was situated in the 6300 lineup, apparently created for rich dowagers with small parking stalls in their luxury apartment houses. The DeVille models were retained as the 63 sub-series (which was technically part of the Sixty-Two line), but the Eldorado Seville and Brougham were dropped. This moved the Eldorado Biarritz convertible into the DeVille sub-series. DeVille models featured front fender series designation scripts and a lower body trimmed with a thin three-quarter length spear molding running from behind the front wheel opening to the rear of the car. Standard equipment was the same used on 6200 models plus Two-way power seat and power windows. The Biarritz convertible also had power vent windows, whitewall tires, Six-Way power bench seat (or bucket seats) and remote control trunk lock. This particular car, finished in its original colors of Bristol Blue with Blue interior, is an original California Black Plate car that has been with the same owner for the last 35 years in Arizona and California. This is a highly optioned car, as you can see by the data plate, which comes with all the power options as well as A/C, Autronic Eye, power locks, windows, 6-way seat and remote trunk. The paint is in good overall condition and has been resprayed sometime in the past. The only spot in the paint that we have found is around the front trim piece where the paint has some chips. It appears that the car has gone through an older cosmetic restoration. Both front and rear bumpers are in very good overall condition with no damage showing to either. Just a very small amount of pitting. The rest of the trim going around the car looks great with no major dents or dings. The body is very solid with no rot and shows that it's been in the southwest all of its life. Inside, the interior appears to be mostly original and in very good overall condition. All the power functions work including the seat and windows. The original seats and carpet do show some fading but overall is solid with no major rips or tears and looks very good for being almost 50 years old. There is a tear in the headliner around the driver's side visor. The steering wheel does show a bit of cracking but the dash is solid overall with only some minor buckling. Under the hood, the engine is very clean and original. No major aftermarket components appear to have ever been installed. The car starts and runs with no problems and goes down the road with no problems. The wide white bias ply tires are all new and in great condition and give the car a distinct look. They are wrapped around original Cadillac wheels and hubcaps which look great. The underside of the car is very solid and shows that it has been in the southwest most of its life. In the trunk, you will find a full size spare as well as a jack and the original carpeting. VIN number is 61L069064 and the current mileage shows 34,850. The car is being sold on a mileage exempt Arizona title.
