Description

The 1964 Imperial Crown's were a completely new body style from the year before. With the exception of the A/C grills, a door handle and windshield the majority of the car was brand new thanks to the new head stylist at Chrysler, Elwood Engel. To provide extra quietness and road noise isolation in its flagship models, Chrysler retained separate body/frame construction through 1966. With the 413 Cu In V8 and automatic, push button transmission, the car is a joy to drive. With only 76,000 original miles showing, everything that we have found so far on this car works. From the interior to the paint, the car appears to be 100% original. Showing some cracking and crazing, the original Ivory lacquer paint is very presentable but does show its originality from being 45 years old. On the trunk lid is the worst of the crazing to the paint but even this is not terrible. The car is very solid with no major bubbling to the body. There is a small spot in front of the rear door but it is only small bubbles. All the chrome and steel trim looks great and shows no major pitting or dents. All the glass is in good condition with no cracking or chips that we have found. Inside, the original leather and cloth seats look great. They are finished in the original colors of white leather and black cloth. The leather does show some cracking but no splits. The cloth inserts look great with no rips or tears. There are some buttons missing though. Both arm rests look good and go up and down with no problems. Headliner, carpet and door panels are all in good, original condition. We have found nothing inside this car that doesn't work. From the original AM/FM radio, power antenna to the A/C, the car has been kept in great, original condition. The steering wheel is solid with no major cracking. All gauges are in good working order as well as all lights, blinkers, horn and power windows. Under the hood, the 413 Cu In V8 runs great and starts right up with a turn of the key. The motor is not highly detailed, but is very clean overall and appears to be almost all original. The push button automatic transmission shifts as it should and parks work with no problems. This is an A/C car that blows with no problems but is not ice cold. On the road the car drives with no problems. With newer radial tires, the car goes down the road straight and doesn't pull to either side under braking. All four hubcaps look good with minimal to no curb rash showing. The underside of the car is very solid with no rot that we have seen. Trunk is solid and has the original carpet that shows only minor staining. There is a full size spare and jack included in the trunk. The current mileage shows 76,516 and is original for the car. VIN number is 9243148116 and the car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.
