Description

The Bonneville remained Pontiac's costliest and most luxurious model throughout the 1960s and was instrumental in pushing Pontiac to third place in sales from 1962 to 1970. The Bonneville differed from its lesser Catalina and Star Chief counter parts by featuring more luxurious interior trim with upgraded cloth and Morrokide vinyl or expanded Morrokide upholstery in sedans and coupes, expanded Morrokide in Safari wagons or genuine leather seating in convertibles. Also found in the Bonneville were instrument panels and door panels with walnut veneer trim, carpeted lower door panels, grab bar on passenger side of dash and courtesy lights and rear arm rest. This particular car is a three owner, 97,000 original mile car that is completely documented. The original owner purchased the car in Fort Wayne Indiana, for their daughter to use going to college. All the mechanical receipts that were done during the first ownership comes with the car. In 2003 the current owner purchased the car and in 2004 repainted it in the original color of Marina Turquoise. This was a base coat / clear coat paint job. The paint on the car looks great and has only minimal imperfections showing. It is finished in the original color but is a base coat / clear coat now. Both front and rear bumpers are in good condition with no major dents or damage. All the trim pieces and stainless looks good around the windows. The white power top looks very good and does have a glass rear window. Top goes up and down with no issues with a flick of a switch. Inside, the interior is finished in the original color of parchment and is almost completely original except for the front seat. The front seat has been recovered as well as the front arm rests. The rest of the interior is in very good, original condition and shows no major spots of wear. The wood on the dash is solid with no cracking. There has been an updated AM/FM radio installed that works with no problems. There has been an aftermarket gauge cluster installed that shows amps, oil pressure and temperature. All of which work with no problems. The dash is solid with no major buckling or cracking. Under the hood, the motor is said to be the original 389 Cu In V8 that has had a tri power carb set up installed from a 1965 GTO. At 85,000 miles the transmission was rebuilt as well as a new dual exhaust system installed, new water pump, new radiator, aluminum valve covers and new tires all the way around. The gas tank and lines are also new as well as the master cylinder in 2009. We have just tuned and cleaned the carbs which made the car run excellent. The original carb set up does come with the car along with the original window sticker, hub caps, owners manuals and receipts from the original owner. This is a great convertible Bonneville that comes with an even better, known history. The current owner is only selling it because he only uses it for parades and the occasional Sunday drive and doesn't have room for it in his new lake house. His loss will be your gain! The current mileage shows 97,321 and is actual for the car. The VIN number is 262676P248604. The car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.
