Description

The Series 61 Cadillac was produced from 1939 through 1942 when wartime halted production. When the war ceased, production resumed and would continue until 1951. The series 61 was built on a wheelbase that measured 126 inches and was powered by a 346 Cu In L-Head V8 engine. By 1941, power had raised to 150 hp. This particular 1941 Cadillac is the series 61 Deluxe Touring Sedan. This is a fully restored car that retains its original style and class from when it was new. Only 3,495 of these specific cars were produced in 1941 at a cost of $1,535. The exterior of the car is nearly spotless with no major imperfections to speak of. The front and rear chrome bumpers look great with no dents or dings to be found. This was the first year of the rectangle lights set into the grill for Cadillac. This was one of many of the styling differences that were done from 1940 to 1941. The front grill on the car is nearly perfect as well as the rest of the steel and bright work on the body. An expensive add on in 1941 were the fender skirts which this car does have and look great. These give the car a more sleeker, smooth look. Inside, the seats, door panels and headliner have all been reupholstered in there correct, original style mohair upholstery which looks great. There is no major wear to be found inside the car. The steering wheel is perfect as is all the wood on the dash, door panels and back of the front seat. All gauges are in good working order as are the lights, horn, blinkers and wipers. The car comes with the optional AM radio. There is some minor pitting to the steering wheel chrome as well as to around the gauge cluster trim. Under the hood, the 346 Cu In V8 runs great. Connected to the optional 2 speed automatic transmission the car runs great. With a turn of the key and a push of the button the car comes to life. A lot of people will say that the late 40's Buick inline 8 motor is the smoothest running 8 cylinder out there, but I would put this flat head against it any day. The V8 was upped to 150 horsepower in 1941 which delivers smooth acceleration all the way up to highway speeds. Under the hood is nicely detailed and has been painted the correct colors. These big pre-war Cadillac's are increasing in popularity with the limousine companies and this would make a great addition to any fleet or simply a new part of a collection. Whether it's going into a collection, fleet or simply into your garage for you to enjoy, the car is going to make a wonderful addition. The current mileage shows 3,059 and the VIN number is 5360267. The car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.
