From 1946 to '48, it was a subseries of the Chevy Fleetmaster rather than a series of its own. From '49 to '51, the Fleetline was again a subseries but this time of both the Special and Deluxe. In its final year, it was offered only as a subseries of the Deluxe. The fleetline debuted in '41 as a four-door sedan. Fleetlines comprised almost 3/4 of Chevy's sales in '47. Fleetlines were dropped for '53. Production halted from 1942 to 1945 because of World War II. Currently in our showroom, MotoeXotica Classic Cars has your opportunity to own a wonderful post-WWII American vehicle with our 1946 Fleetline. These cars are becoming highly collectable because of their sleek, aerodynamic looks, and many hot rod enthusiasts use these Fleetlines for their craft. However, this Fleetline is factory fresh in that regard and is truly a sight to behold. The interior is a sight only the pictures can describe. Perhaps the most interesting tale of this Fleetline is the upgraded interior. The previous owner complimented the blue vinyl interior with a gray fabric. With leftover material, the previous owner stitched two matching pillows for the back seats - this is sure to set apart this Fleetline from others in any collection. Another fantastic feature is the original Atlas underdash heater on the front passenger side. The horn is inoperable. The radio is original, and many of the knobs are also original. The exterior has benefitted from a recent professional paint job. The exterior is a handsome, two-tone blue motif. The upper part of the body is Fleet Blue, and the lower is a Wing Blue. The hubcaps are correct and have the '40s era Chevrolet insignia. The wheels and trim rings are also correct. The chrome brightwork shows well, and overall the car has been highly restored to factory specifications, if not better. The engine is a recently rebuilt straight six-cylinder, 3.5 L on a manual "three on the tree" transmission which is also recently rebuilt and shifts beautifully. The engine bay is correct and tidy. Overall, this is a beautiful, desirable Chevy aero-sedan from the late '40s. VIN is 3DJH37748, and mileage reads 76,649 for this 57-year old auto.
