Description

No single car company seems to draw as much attention to the industry as Ferrari. Their carshave been the envy of many, while being owned by few. With so many models to choose from, both past and present, it is difficult to determine a favorite. However it seems that public opinion has labeled which Ferraris are more popular than others. One such example is the rarely seen Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 Coupe. These Berlina's were the most expensive series production Ferrari's available for 17 years andprovided grand motoring in a lavishly appointed Pininfarina design. Introduced in 1972 as the 365 GT4 2+2 and going on to evolve through 400 and 400i variations, production finally ended in 1989 when the superb 412i was discontinued and not replaced. Ferrari 365 GT4's were almost identical to the GTC/4's with unchanged Tipo F101 AC000 motors and five-speed manual gearboxes. A Colombo-derived 4.3-litre dual overhead camshaft 60 V12, the engine featured a displacement of 4290cc thanks to a bore and stroke of 81 x 71mm respectively.Compression was 8.8:1 and six twin choke Weber 38 DCOE sidedraught carbs fitted. Producing340 BHP at 7000rpm, GT4's were the worlds most potent full four seaters. Despite weighing in at 1450kg, a top speed of 155mph was possible while 0-60 took just 6.4 seconds. This fine example is finished in a Brown Metallic with an original beige Patina interior. The vehicle has been well maintained over the years and it shows with its service records dating back to 1990. With just under 62,000 original miles, this Ferrari is a pleasure to drive. A great example of automotive design and Ferrari Heritage. Within the last 100 miles the car has recieved a service which included tuning the carbs, adjusting the timing chain and charging the A/C which works fine and blows cold. The paint on the car is in very good condition with no major blemishes to be found. There is a small crack to the rear bumper on the drivers side as visible in pictures. All window trim is in good condition as are both mirrors and all the glass. Inside, the original leather seats have been well preserved and look very good. Carpet is good as well as the headliner. Wood trim in the center console shows no cracking and is in very good condition. All lights and blinkers work with no problems as well as the horn and power antenna. The AM/FM radio is currently inoperable. It lights up but doesn't emit any sound. Power windows go up and down with no issues. The V12 in this car has recently been tuned. All 6 carbs were tuned and the plugs were all changed. We have receipts dating back from December 1990 showing work done to the car which includes a new clutch, tune ups, oil changes and spark plugs. Under the hood is very clean with no leaks that we have seen. This is an A/C car and it does blow cold. On the road the car handles very well and runs out great. At highway speeds the car shows what it is meant for and will keep accelerating well into the triple digits. All 5 Cromodora magnesium wheels are in great condition with plenty of tread left on all the tires, including the spare. A full tool set in included as you can see in the photos as well as the jack, jack tools and jack bag. The current mileage shows 61,934 and the VIN number is 17393.
