Just in time for spring, Motoexotica is offering this rare and fantastic 1964 Chevy Corvair Monza Spyder! This little turbo charged 4 speed Corvair is a fantastic little convertible that was restored and then donated to the American Kidney Foundation. This is a very highly optioned Corvair that options include power top, tinted windshield, 4 speed manual transmission, custom deluxe front belts and the comfort and convenience package (2 speed wiper washer, day/night mirror and backup lights). The car is finished in the original shade of Palomar Red which is in very good condition and has benefited from an older respray. There are no major imperfections showing to the paint. Both front and rear bumpers appear to be original for the car but are in very good shape and have a good shine. There are only some very minor scratches and dings to them. The convertible top appears to be new as well as the plastic rear window. The top is power just like it was from the factory. The drivers side mirror appears to be new as well as most of the stainless trim. All the glass is good with no chips or cracks to the windshield. The interior is finished in the original color of red vinyl and is in great condition. The seats all appear to be freshly recovered and the carpet is new as well. The tops of the doors show very minor wear and appear to be original for the car and never repainted. The dash is in good condition as well as the steering wheel which is solid. There are some very minor scratches on the glove box door. All lights, blinkers and wipers work with no problems. Under the rear bonnet, the turbo charged flat six motor runs great. From the factory these little Corvairs came with the 164 Cu In flat six. With the turbo option, these little motors went from 95 horsepower to 150. On the road, the car is a blast to drive and runs down the road with no problems. The original 4 speed manual transmission operates with no problems and the clutch is strong. The underside of the car is very solid with no rot that we have found. There is no undercoating to hide spots of damage underneath. The body panels all line up like they did from the factory and look great. There is no major spots of rust repair that we have seen on the car.
