The Hudson Motor Car Company made Hudson and other brand automobiles in Detroit from 1909 to '54. The company had a number of firsts for the auto industry; these included dual brakes, the use of dashboard oil-pressure and generator warning lights. It also had the first balanced crankshaft, which allowed the Hudson straight-six engine, dubbed the "Super Six" in 1916, to work at a higher rotational speed while remaining smooth, developing more power for its size than lower-speed engines. The 1929 Hudson was the third-highest selling U.S. car that year. This car was capable of sustained speeds of more than 80 mph, the fastest Detroit-manufactured car that year. Despite being an upper-middle class car in the late 1920s, Hudsons were popular as get-away cars for bank robberies! Don't miss your opportunity to get away with this highly original and nicely running 1929 Hudson Super-Six. The exterior is a Hudson classic with its two-tone black and blue. The upper portion of the body is blue, while the fenders are finished in black. The paint shows some age, but it is expected even with a restored paint on an 80-plus year old vehicle. A highlight of the exterior is the large, original Hudson headlamps that will help brighten the night on an evening cruise. The stow-away rumble seats have been upgraded to a smooth black vinyl, but the original step pads still retain their old-world charm. The interior showcases a uniqueness from Hudson makes. The interior door handles (and exterior door handles) are matching and have what appears to be an acorn design engraved in them. These are the original door handles for this '29 Hudson. The door panels and seats have been redone with a period-correct cloth. The mohair interior headliner and rear package are original and have great patina. Taking a seat in this vehicle will make it feel like the late '20s with the original gauge cluster including a working motometer. The back window also rolls down, and with the rumble seat up, you can have all passengers feel the wind in their hair. The wheels are the correct finished dark wood, which adds a rustic feel to this 84-year old car. The engine is an inline six-cylinder mated to a three-speed manual transmission. If you want to know much more on the mechanical workings of this Hudson, printouts of the original instruction book and parts list are included. This would make great reading material for anyone wanting to know more about this car in particular or even how Hudsons were assembled. This is a wonderful classic car just itching to head to the next car show or weekend cruise. We purchased this fine automobile from an 82-year old gentleman who had lovingly cared for the car for 71 years. VIN is 845757, and mileage is 56,802 but is exempt. This Hudson is being sold on a clean Illinois title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
