1972 Plymouth Valiant Sedan Vin: VL41G2R276016- 318 CID 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder "LA" engine- Automatic Transmission- Absolutely amazing no-expense-spared restoration- Factory Air Conditioning- Power steering - Original owners manual, build sheets, and line inspection sheets- Feature car in Hemmings Classic Car Magazine 08/07- One of the nicest Plymouth Valiant Sedans in existenceIf someone tells you that you can't purchase a collectible Mopar today for anything less than the contents of your 401K, try a Plymouth Valiant on for size. Chances are it will not have a Hemi hiding under the hood, or even a 440-cu.in. big-block. But so what? You don't need to have a big V-8, bucket seats and a four-speed to enjoy the collector-car experience. Plymouth's conservatively styled compact, officially called a Chrysler A-body, might not be for everyone, or if you've thought about breaking away from the ordinary, it's an ideal car with which to step into the world of collector cars; well, at least in baby steps. Period advertising from Plymouth listed the four-door as having been "a pacesetter in the economy field for over ten years...and it still has the roomy interior, rugged construction, and proven economy." Everybody--it seems--knows somebody who owned one; ironic that the Valiant is certainly out of the norm at car shows across the board.MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this "True Blue" 1972 Plymouth Valiant Sedan that is in OUTSTANDING full nut and bolt restored condition. The previous owners purchased the car in February of 1996 with only 30k original miles and stated that the car was in remarkable shape. Originally painted "Basin Street Blue" the Valiant was professionally painted factory "True Blue" and the interior received some new carpet along with fresh new seats. Over the years the Valaint was slowly restored to it's current state and only driven around 3k miles a year going to car shows. The overall appearance of this Valiant is truly stunning and most likely the closest you will ever see to a brand new factory fresh 72 Plymouth Valiant, a true 1970's time machine! The exterior, is in excellent shape with all the correct trim pieces all in place. The chrome trim and bumpers are in stellar condition with amazing shine. All gaps and sheet metal are fitted correctly and the True Blue paint is close to perfection. The black vinyl top is in excellent shape and claimed to be original to the car from the previous owner. The Valiant has the correct hubcaps in great shape wrapped with 195/75R/14 tires. The headlights, side markers, and taillights are in nice shape with some slight delimination. Inside, the interior is in excellent restored condition and shows no wear. The seats, dash and center console all look great as well as the door panels and headliner. The gauges, lights, blinkers, wipers and horn are in working order. The original solid state radio works and has great reception. The factory installed AC system is functional and has been converted to R134 and blows cold. This Valiant actually still smells like a new car inside!Under the hood you will find that the 318 CID 2 barrel V8 is as correct and clean as you could possibly find. The Carter BBD two barrel carburetor appears to look almost new, much like the rest of the engine. Viewing the photos, you can see that all the correct OEM parts such as hoses, plug wires, and other OEM maintenance items were used during this extensive restoration. The current mileage shows 94,989 miles. VIN number is VL41G2R276016 and this Valiant was produced at the Windsor Ontario plant in March of 1972. Included with the car are three production broadcast sheets, three line inspection sheets, original operators manual, Hemmings Classic Car Magazine August of 2007 in which this Valiant was featured, and Car Classics 2009 calendar with this Plymouth featured in the month of November.Driving Impressions:"Now this is something you do not see very often! A 1972 Plymouth Valiant sedan that appears almost like a new car when viewed in person. You can imagine the lifestyle in the 70's when new owners would bring these new cars home to show off to their neighbors. With this car you can relive that experience again but when your neighbors bring home new Hondas and Toyotas you can blow their minds by bringing home this 70's fresh bright blue sedan! The reactions and attention would be priceless!Once inside this gorgeous sedan you immediately notice how fresh and correct this car really is. I quickly reached for the radio nobs of the original Chrysler Solid State Radio and was excited to hear those vintage warm sounds of the radio. Driving the Viliant you quickly get a feeling of how well this car is restored, everything is very tight and the steering and braking tracks straight. I was actually surprised how strong the 318 CID V8 feels and it seals the deal for this amazing fully restored Mopar.I drove the Plymouth to the location of the old St. Louis Chrysler Plant for photographs, the same factory that manufactured some of these A-Body Valiants in 1972. The plant is now long gone but the cars they manufactured are still going strong today and this particular Valiant has to be one of the best examples in existence! This Plymouth should sell fast as unlike 'Cudas and Dusters of the same era, many Valiant parts are a bit more difficult to source so a restoration of this caliber will be very hard and expensive to duplicate."
