Description

The famous AC model was introduced in 1916. With its chain drive rear axle, the AC model earned an unparalleled reputation for reliability and durability, and was called on to help accomplish nearly impossible military and civilian tasks. The AC model was manufactured continuously through 1939 -- a remarkable 24 years, and 40,299 were built. The AC is not only credited with giving Mack its famous Bulldog identity, but also with achieving a degree of success and international fame that has never been accomplished by any other motor truck in history. We have the original oak windshield and side oak frames that are very well preserved. These trucks are nearly impossible to find in any condition. Those that have them rarely give them up with most in large museums never to be sold to the public again. This truck is remarkably solid and original. The wood bed looks fantastic as do all the body panels. We have found no rot to the frame or body on this awesome truck. The chains are missing for the dual chain drives in the rear. This truck has not been run in many years and we are not sure what is entitled in doing so. It is being sold as inoperable. For a restoration, this truck is nearly perfect. It appears that it is around 80% complete and needs no major work to bring it up to standards. All serial numbers we have found are photographed and shown. We know little about the truck and it will have to be transported from our location in St. Louis Missouri. The serial number for the truck is 4AC1CL-1196. This truck is currently being sold on a bill of sale, but we anticipate a clean Missouri title shortly. We have yet another Mack AC that we will be listing in the next week that would make an excellent parts vehicle. Please stay tuned!
