Description

MotoeXotica is offering another great little drop top cruisin Corvair! This 1969 Corvair has a beautiful red paint job that is in great overall condition. This was the last year for the Corvair. The previous Texas owner purchased the car in 1994. He informed u sthat he believed the car was the 13th from last Corvair produced of which only 520 were built in 1969. I am sure someone will let me know differently. The trunk is clean with only a very small spot of rust on the very bottom. In back the dual carb, flat six engine appears to of never been touched as it is in original driven condition and shows no signs of rust anywhere. It does tend to drip a very small amount of oil but that is common with these cars. Underneath the car shows no signs of rust except for the front trunk area, previously mentioned. The mileage shows 54861 and the previous owner says its actual but the car is being sold on a mileage exempt title. The VIN# is 105679W700511. There is also an original style owner's manual included. Thanks to a fellow Ebayer, we have just been informed that this Corvair is actually the 511th Corvair built in Willow run that year. That would make it the 9th to the last one made. COULD THIS BE THE NEWEST AND ONE OF THE LAST SURVIVING CORVAIR'S STILL IN EXISTENCE??? Here is some more interesting information that was sent to us from a Corvair enthusiast: This car is the 511th car made at the Willow Run plant. 521 convertibles were produced that year but were dispersed throughout the entire run of 6000 cars total. Monza coupes and 500 coupes were also offered! #5997 is a Monza convertible owned by Laurie Bissig of Laton, CA and that would be the 4th last car built. #5999 & #6000 are known to be Monza coupes (#6000 still to be found-a holy grail so to speak). #5998 not yet found but could still be the last conv. built. A 2003 Roster lists 1,057 1969 Corvairs, about 18% of the total 6000 production. There are 265 conv. known of, whether still owned or known to have been scrapped. 51% of there total 521 production. The 1969 conv. has the distinction of being the lowest production model made only surpassed by the 1962 Corvair Loadside (Corvair 95 pickup) with 369 made. The 2003 roster shows #0511 to be owned by a Everett Wilson of Richland Hills, TX.
