Motoexotica is offering a fabulous 1955 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. This was the first production year of the T-Bird and they only made a little over 16,000 of these cars. This car is very original and has a new convertible top! This car came out of a very large collection in Indiana where it has been sitting for a number of years. The mileage of 56,294 is believed to be original. The paint is in very good condition. The car has recently benefited from a new paint job that has a great shine to it. Both the front and rear chrome bumpers have a good shine and luster to them. They do show some very minor pitting. The front stainless grill looks good as well as the rest of the stainless trim around the car. It only shows some minor pitting. The white vinyl convertible top is new as well as the plastic rear window. There is a small, 1 inch tear to the top. The glass is all in good condition. The windshield has a few minor scratches.The interior is in good overall condition. The white and blue vinyl bench seat looks very good with only some very minor holes to the front. These are as small as a tip of a pen. The black vinyl dash looks original and in good condition with no major cracking or buckling. It has some minor fading and is showing its age. The blue and white door panels are both very nice with only some minor staining as well as the carpet. The car does come with power windows that both work with no problems. The underside of the car is original and does show some rot to the body supports coming off of the frame. The floors are overall very solid as well as the frame. It's just the supports and inner rockers that show some rot which does not compromise the integrity of the car. The wheels have stainless Ford hubcaps that are very nice with just some small dings showing. They are wrapped in white walled F78-15 4 ply tires that are showing some wear. The engine is believed to be the original 292 CU IN V8. It is attached to a 2 speed automatic transmission with shifter on the floor. The dual exhaust system has chrome tips that run through the rear chrome bumper which are not rotted out. This is a super fun car to cruise around town in and take to car shows and cruises. The VIN is SH8517PA and is an assigned Pennsylvania VIN and the current mileage shows 56,294 which is believed to be original. Car is being sold on a mileage exempt Indiana title.
