Description

For 1979, a new, trimmer Eldorado was introduced, and for the first time the car shared its chassis with the Buick Riviera as well as the Toronado. Smaller 350 and 368 V8's replaced the 500 and 425 monsters of the preceding model, giving better fuel efficiency. For 1979, it was offered only with the Oldsmobile 350 as standard, with the diesel 350 available as an option. In 1980, the gas 350 was replaced with the Cadillac 368 except in California, where the Oldsmobile 350 was retained for that year. Independent rear suspension was adopted, helping retain rear-seat and trunk room in the smaller body. The most notable styling touch was an extreme notch-back roof-line, making the rear window almost vertical. Although downsized, these Eldorado's were still substantial-sized cars with good room and power. This particular '85 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is very special and unique. Bought new by Dean Bailey of Dean Bailey Oldsmobile in Oklahoma on May 11, 1985 for his wife, Betty, the car currently shows only 18,000 ORIGINAL miles. This car comes with just about every single available option that total over $5,000. The only option that the car doesn't have is the sunroof. We recently had to drop the fuel tank to replace a fuel line and the tank sticker was still in tact and in great condition. We also have the original Invoice, original Odometer Statement showing 94 miles, receipt for payment, all original owners manuals and the rare cassette tape that explains all of the options. Sadly, Betty passed away several years ago but the family saved the car in her memory. We purchased the car from her two sons who still own the dealership today and had the car sitting on the show room floor. The paint on this car is virtually flawless, no major trouble areas have been found. The paint is believed to be original with no signs of paintwork. All the chrome on the car is in great condition and shows no pitting or peeling, it still retains a fantastic luster and shine as well. The stainless roof is a great looking addition to these Cadillac's. Both front and rear bumpers are in great condition with no damage showing. The interior of the car looks nearly spotless as an 18,000 mile car should. The beautiful tan leather interior shows very little to no wear, and still retains its healthy original color as it has not faded. The wood trim on the door panels and dashboard is also in great condition, showing now cracking, peeling, or fading. The carpet on the interior of the car is still in great condition, it does not have any staining or tears that we have found. The car does have the optional phone installed as well as a fan in the rear. Other options include memory seat, power locks, power reclining driver and passenger seats, rear window defogger, illuminated vanity mirrors, theft deterrent system, trumpet horn, digital instrument cluster, cruise and AM/FM stereo with digital scan and display. Under the hood, the powerful 4.1 liter V8 runs smoothly and quietly as it always has. The motor is nearly as clean as the day it was delivered new and shows no aftermarket add on's. Everything on the car works as it should with no problems. The car drives just as you would expect. The tires have been recently replaced with white wall radials. As you can see in the underside photos, the car is free of any rust that we have found. It's incredible solid and clean and literally looks new still. The VIN number is 1G6EL5781FE651188 and is being sold on a clean Oklahoma title with actual mileage odometer statement. The odometer reads 18,184 miles.
