Description

The 1934 Chevrolet Master and Standard continued Chevrolet's year-old practice of building two distinct series of cars on different wheelbase lengths. The 1934 Chevrolet Master, in fact, now measured 112 inches, two inches longer than the 1933 model. The 1934 Chevrolet Standard model remained at 107 inches. Both models retained six-cylinder power, but modifications to the Master's 206-cubic-inch engine boosted horsepower from 65 to 80. The Standard series repeated 1933's 181-cubic-inch 60-horsepower engine. Chevrolet's big news this year was adoption of "Knee-Action," the sealed Dubonnet type of independent front suspension. Standard equipment on the Master series, it would not be offered on Standard models for a few more years. Master models, while retaining the previous year's styling theme, looked heavier than their 1933 counterparts -- which they were, by some 225 pounds, about 60 pounds of which was due to the Dubonnet "knees." Three horizontal hood louvers replaced the doors used in 1932-33, and wheels were reduced in size to 17 inches. This 1934 Chevrolet Master two door rumble seat convertible comes loaded with options and was recently purchased out of a collection where it was well exercised for many years. Finished in burgundy with tan top, the car's option list consists of dual side mounts, fog lights, dual horns, dual tail lights, luggage rack, bumper guards, chrome headlights and six new white wall tires wrapped around wire wheels. The paint on the car is in very good overall condition but is an older respray. There are some spots where the paint is cracking but overall it retains a good shine and luster. The convertible top looks very good overall with just some minor staining showing. With the dual side mounts, winged hood ornament, chrome horns, chrome lights and luggage rack, the car is very impressive visually. Both front and rear chrome bumpers have been rechromed and are in great condition along with the rest of the stainless trim. Inside, the tan vinyl seat looks great with no rips or tears to be found. The same goes for the matching door panels. The wood grain dash really sets the interior off and looks great with no cracking or peeling. Gauges and steering wheel both look great with no cracking to be found. There has been turn signals installed. Under the hood, the 207 Cu In inline six cylinder runs great and is connected to a three speed manual transmission on the floor. The clutch is strong and the car runs down the road with no issues. With six new Firestone wide white bias ply tires wrapped around correct wire wheels, this car is ready to go on any cruise or rally. The VIN number is 4551546 and the car is being sold on a clean Montana title. Mileage currently shows 48,087.
