The Chevrolet Bel Air was a full-size automobile that was produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors for the 1950-1975 model years. For 1954, the Bel Air stayed essentially the same from the previous model year with the exception of a revised grille and taillights, a revised engine that had insert bearings and higher oil pressure which was needed for the full-flow oil filtration system that was not available prior to 1954.
