This car is original with a functional hardtop that would make an excellent driver with its 292 cubic inch V8 and automatic transmission. Finished in Surf Blue with a White top, the paint is in good condition although it does show its age. The paint does have some minor imperfections such as rock chips and a little bit of crazing towards the rear of the car. The body is straight; however it does have some rust below the doors and the rear fender. The frame seems to be solid, but the inner rockers do show decay. As mentioned before, this car would make an excellent driver as is or would be a great candidate for a restoration as you see fit. The chrome is in good shape, showing on some pitting on the door handles. The retractable hardtop is fully functional and in great condition. Inside, the seats are wrapped in blue vinyl and are in great shape, showing minimal wear. The door panels are in good shape with age as well and are finished in two shades of blue vinyl, showing only minor staining. The blue carpet and white headliner are in good shape and look very nice. The dashboard has a crack on the surface of it and houses the original gauges and an AM radio. The Fairlane came equipped with power windows and a power top. Under the hood, you'll find a 292 cubic inch V8 engine, complete with power brakes. Attached to the V8 is a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission (Code 4). The Fairlane sits upon a set of 14" wheels wrapped in P215/75R14 tires. According to the Data Plate, the car is equipped with a 3.56:1 axle (Code 2). As mentioned before, this hard to find classic Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable would make an excellent driver as is or a great candidate for a restoration as you see fit.
