Vintage Midget Race Car 3/5 scale 1930s two-door sedan body 2 livery with sponsorship graphics Hoosier Racing tires on chrome, vented wheels Four-cylinder engine with four-into-one exhaust In-and-out gearbox with quick-change rear differential Roll cage for driver Does your trucks trailer look lonely without something new to haul? How about a vintage Midget racing car? We have one at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. This three-fifths scale racer has a black body adorned with #2 livery, flames and a variety of sponsorship graphics. Theres netting where a windshield would normally fit and the rest of the window panels are wide open. As expected, such a car has no exterior lights. Theres an inline four-cylinder up front with an insane power-to-weight ratio compared to a traditional car. The motor is connected to a traditional racing in-and-out gearbox with a quick-change rear differential. This racer rolls on Hoosier Racing tires, 8.0/23.0-13 in front with 215/50D14 and 235/60D13 in the rear. Each tire is wrapped around a chrome, vented wheel. Inside is a single seat for the driver, complete with roll cage. He or she faces an instrument panel with a steering wheel, gearbox control on the right and minimal instrumentation. Midget cars are a class of racing cars. The cars are very small with a very highpower-to-weight ratioand typically usefour-cylinder engines. They originated in the United States in the 1930s and are raced on most continents. There is a worldwide tour and national midget tours in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Typically, these four-cylinder engine cars have 300 horsepower to 400 horsepower and weigh 900 pounds. The high power and small size of the cars combine to make midget racing quite dangerous; for this reason, modern midget cars are fully equipped withroll cagesand other safety features. Sprint cars do not utilize a transmission, they have an in-or-out gear box and quick-change rear differentials for occasional gearing changes. As a result, they do not have electric starters (or even electrical systems other than magneto/ignition) and require a push to start them. The safety record of sprint car racing in recent years has been greatly improved by the use of roll cages, and especially on dirt tracks, wings, to protect the drivers. To fill that vacant spot on your trucks trailer or just to buy something to have fun in, drop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check out this vintage midget racer today!
