1957 Dodge 100 Stepside Custom Half-Ton Pickup 318 CID V-8 engine with four-barrel carburetor Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission Orange metallic exterior Custom brown interior Power steering, power front disc/rear drum brakes and power seats Hydraulic tilt bed B&M shifter Ram bed cover Fully documented parts receipt history An attention-getter, MotoeXotica Classic Cars is proud to present this 1957 Dodge 100 Stepside Custom Half-Ton Pickup Truck. This particular example was built in Chryslers Detroit, Michigan factory. Since then, a whirlwind of change has happened to this truck. This awesome Dodge Pickup has had the same owner since 2004, 14 years. Dressed in a gorgeous orange metallic, the trucks paint and trim are in overall excellent condition, with only slight blemishes visible upon close inspection. The trucks windows are clear and intact, as are the trucks lights, which are haze-free and look good. The trucks bodywork is straight and solid, its bumpers fit well to the body; the engine bay and cargo bed both are in above average condition. The trucks bed has wood pieces mounted on the outer walls and wooden steps for bed ingress and egress and a brown bed cover embossed with the Ram logo. In addition, the bed has a dump hydraulic tilting mechanism. This truck rolls on blackwall radials, Kuhmos, size 205/75R15 in front and Prime Wells, size 235/75R15 in back. Each tire surrounds a full moon wheel cover. The tires and wheels are both in very good condition. Under the hood is understood to be a 318 CID V-8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor, backed by a Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features include power steering, power front disc/rear drum brakes and power seats. Inside is a custom matching interior. The bucket seats are in very good order, as is the matching carpet. The headliner is in satisfactory order. The three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel is in excellent order, as is the instrument panel with its full array of TPI-Tech custom gauges and an aftermarket tachometer under the dash. The inner door panels are in very good shape. The center console looks great and echoes the theme set by the rest of the interior. On the floor between the sits is a B&M shifter. Unlike the B Series, which were closely related to Dodge's prewar trucks, the C Series was a complete redesign. Dodge continued the pilot house tradition of high-visibility cabs with a wraparound windshield introduced in 1955. A two-speed PowerFlite automatic transmissionwas newly available that year. To keep up with the cars styling, the trucks received The Forward Look, pioneered by Virgil Exner. The front fender lines extended forward, Frenching the headlights. The effect was to evoke motion even while the truck was stationary. The trucks received a new front clip, hood and front bumper. The hood had two open positions, 45 degrees for regular maintenance and 90 degrees for full serviceability. The company also adopted the standard pickup truck numbering scheme, also used by Ford and GM at that time. Thus, the half-ton Dodge was now called the D100. Competition to this Dodge in 1957 included Chevrolets 3100 series Task Force pickup, Fords venerable F-100 and F-150 pickups and GMCs Blue Chip series pickup trucks.
