After World War II, Jeep trademark owner, Willys, believed that the market for the military-type Jeep would be limited to farmers and foresters, therefore they began producing the "CJ" (or Civilian Jeep) to fill this growing segment. Willys then began producing the new Jeep Wagon in 1946, and then the Jeep Truck in 1947.Realizing a gap in their product lineup, Willys developed the Jeepster to crossover from their "utilitarian" type truck vehicles, to the passenger automobile market. In the process, the automaker developed the Jeepster, "one of America's most daring postwar automobile designsMotoeXotica is proud to present this beautiful, custom, award winning 1948 Willy's Jeepster. This is extremely, special and customized Jeep that is sure to stop traffic when it cruises by. It demands attention with its low stance, custom paint job and shaved body!Finished in yellow and blue, this Jeepster was restored and painted with PPG two stage paint, applied by John Johnson, then topped off with beautiful hand-painted graphics and pinstriping, done by Pete "Hot Dog" Finlan of Monster Garage fame. The paint is absolutely incredible, showing no imperfections and shining like the day it was finished! The customization didn't stop at the paint job ... this Jeepster has shaved suicide doors and a shaved power trunk! The front end of the Jeepster is all tube style with coil-overs and the rear end is a bulletproof Ford 9" 31 Spline. Not only was this rig made to turn heads, it was made to actually drive!Inside, you will find that the interior is just as incredible as the exterior! The seats and door panels are wrapped in blue leatherette and the floor is finished with blue pile carpet, done by John's Custom Auto Upholstery in Sparks, Nevada. The interior shows no signs of wear and looks awesome! The dashboard is painted to match the blue exterior paint and houses Pro Comp gauges. On the passenger side of the dashboard, there is a custom pinstriping, hand painted by Pete "Hot Dog" Finlan. He also painted the rear deck and mini flames around the car. The sound system is completely upgraded with Unique Sounds & Auto accessories, Kicker Subs & Dual Amps, Secret Audio, GPS, DVD and Hidden CD Video.Under the hood, you'll find a pristine Chevy ZZ4 engine, capable of making 355 horsepower. The engine looks absolutely incredible with all the chrome dress up. Attached to the engine is a 4-Speed manual transmission with electric over drive, making this Jeepster a blast to drive. The car is also equipped with power steering and 4 wheel disc power brakes.Transferring the ponies to the pavement is a set of Boyd Coddington 5 Spoke wheels: 15x7 wrapped in 205/50ZR15 Goodyear Comp T/A Radials on the front and 17x11's wrapped in 315/35ZR17 Goodyear Comp T/A Radials on the back. The wheels really set off the entire look of the car!This incredible Jeepster is definitely not for the faint of heart.
