Description

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer the four (4) 6,000 gallon stainless steel industrial tanks you see pictured. These are quite a bit different than what we normally offer, but that's what makes our dealership unique! These tanks were used for mixing paint for vehicles back in the day when our former neighbors were building Dodge Rams & Chrysler minivans at the Chrysler Saint Louis Assembly Plant. The tanks were in the building when we purchased it from BASF. They produced the base primer coat for Chrysler that "was" less than a mile from our door step. These tanks were properly cared for and BSF had them all professionally cleaned and power washed before we purchased the building. The four tanks are each 13' tall with a 9' diameter. On both the top of the tanks and on the lower side of the tanks, there are 2' openings. Each tank is made of stainless steel. The tanks were built in 1986, have a 6,000 gallon capacity and weigh 11,000lbs dry each. There are two resin tanks and two pigment tanks. There are pipes that connect each tank that are 318g stainless. Included with the purchase is a new unused pump and meter. The pups are run by compressor air. Each tank has a motor & impeller fixed to the top of the tank. The resin tanks were powered by "Lightnin" Model 93-C-5 Motors. They had a ratio of 31.4, an output of 56 RPMs and were recommended to put out 5 horsepower at the uniform load. They are rated at 408 volts. The pigment tanks were powered by "Lightnin" Model 91-C-2 Motors. They had a ratio of 20.8, an output of 56 RPMs and were recommended to put out 2 horsepower at the uniform load. The lower horsepower is due to the fact that the tanks were mixing both pigment and resin together with a much thicker viscosity. The second pigment tank was serviced on February 9th of 2000 according to a tag we found hanging from the motor. The purchaser is responsible to come to our location in Fenton, MO and safely remove the tanks. The tanks are still completely intact within our facility. The tanks, motors, gauges and pipes are all included. Buyer will be responsible for rigging and removal. Our building exterior wall will need to be removed and refastened upon completion. All electrical will also need to be removed by buyer. They are shut off currently from the supply. Please view the photos for detailed photos of all tanks and accessories. We also have two (2) large Joy air compressors ... if interested, please ask.
