Description

MotoeXotica is offering this great looking rare 1961 Jeep FC-170 4x4 truck which has only 42,000 ORIGINAL miles and would be the PERFECT work truck or farm truck or impress your friends truck! This monster can haul over 3500 POUNDS in the bed alone! Willys introduced its new 3/4-ton FC-170 on May 27, 1957. To date, this was the heaviest truck in terms of gross weight (7000 lbs.), which Willys had produced. This really placed them in competition with the "Big Three." The FC-170 had a wheelbase of 103.5 inches and tread width of 63.5 inches. This allowed for a long 9-foot (107.25 inches with tailgate up) pickup box, the first time a pickup box exceeded the wheelbase length of a truck. Willys touted the vehicles strengths. Greatest cargo area (45 cubic feet) in its weight class and greater payload (3,510 pounds) to weight (3,490 pounds) ratio than comparable 4-wheel drive trucks with a G.V.W.R. of 7,000 pounds. This FC-170 is equipped with the Willys High Torque "Super Hurricane" L-Head inline 6-cylinder engine. The engine displaces 226.2 cubic inches and produces 105 H.P. at 3600 RPM and 190 lb.ft. of torque at 1400 RPM. Impressive by 1961 standards! The paint is in good overall condition with the only major blemishes being some scratches to the tailgate and around the bed. The paint is also starting to peel around the top of the front left fender. The front tires are 7.50 - 16LT's and the rear are 7.00 - 16's which all have good tread life left on them. Under the truck there is some minor surface rust but no visible rot that we have detected. The mileage currently shows 42,731 which the previous owner stated to be actual and VIN# is 615682080. We have an original Jeep sales brochure that goes with the truck. You may search far and wide and never have an opportunity to find another Jeep like this one. Show up at the next Jamboree and heads will be turning. It's a Jeep thing! GET OUT AND DRIVE!
