Description

If you are looking for that rare, one of a kind, vehicle that nobody on your block, or in your STATE has, then you have found it. This 1985 Renault Alpine is one of only around 24 ever brought to the United States. This particular car came with factory A/C as well as the awesome GT or Group 4 body kit which added a bigger front and rear spoiler as well as flares over the wheels. Other options include an aftermarket exhaust system, MSD ignition and triple Weber two barrel carbs which really brings the motor to life. The Alpine A310GT was built in France and was one of Europe's most elusive sports cars. Only 8,000 of these hand built automobiles were built during a fifteen year production from 1971 to 1985. This is one of the last cars built in 1985. Only two dozen of these cars were ever brought here to the United States. This particular car was featured with its owner in Pantera International Magazine in the spring of 2003. They did a comparison of the Alpine versus the more powerful Pantera. The Alpine won in the handling department hands down to the heavier Pantera. I spoke with the previous owner of this car and he told me that he has owned the car for six years. He purchased the car out of an estate in 1999 and had it shipped from North Carolina to his home in New Mexico. At that time the car had been sitting for a number of years but was running. He went through the car and purchased all the parts he needed overseas and had them shipped to the United States. He then had Performance Motorcar Investments in Corrales New Mexico do all the work on it. We have numerous receipts from Performance Motorcar Investments that total almost $4,000. They date from 1999 through the last oil change in May of 2004. The Alpines body is fiberglass over a tubular steel backbone frame. The car has been repainted sometime in the past but looks very good. The paint is more then 10 years old as the previous owner did not do any paint work to the car. There are no major scratches or dings to the body and it looks great. There are some minor dings and nicks to the front spoiler, none major or uncommon. The fiberglass does show some minor cracking but nowhere is it major. This car has one numerous awards from many shows on the west coast. The most notable are the "Rare Bird" trophies. In 2002 the car competed in the Roadrunner 1000 Rally in Santa Fe New Mexico and won the "Rare Bird" Trophy from formula one world champion Phil Hill. There are documents and photos from that win included with purchase. We have the maintenance history, owners manuals, workshop manuals in French and English, hardback books about the Alpine, and numerous magazine articles as well. All of which are included with the purchase of this fantastic automobile.
