The Edsel Citation was the top of the line automobile produced by the former Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln Division of the Ford Motor Company of Dearborn, Michigan, and sold through its Edsel marque in 1958. The Citation was built on the longer, wider Edsel platform, shared with Mercury, and with the Corsair. Citation was one of two Edsel model names later used by another auto manufacturer, Pacer being the other.The Citation represented the highest trim level available within the Edsel brand. In addition to deluxe interior appointments, the Citation also received extra stainless steel details and a gold-anodized aluminum cove panel. The cove, or rear quarter-panel "scallop," could be painted either the color of the body, the color of the roof, or a third color. It used a ladder type frame with welded box side rails and independent ball-joint front suspension.MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this gorgeous, fully restored 1958 Edsel Citation 4 door hardtop you see pictured. This is a beautiful, restored example of everything an Edsel should be! This particular Citation has won numberous awards and includes a car cover, maintenance book and has many receipts from the restoration. This car is equipped with the 410 cubic inch V8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes! This Edsel is finished in the original Gold Metallic and Frost White combination and the paint is in great condition, showing only very minor imperfections, such as rock chips, that are typical of a car that is regularly driven. The body is exceptionally solid and has all the glorious curves that Edsels are known for. All of the chrome, including the bumpers and trim have been re-chromed or replaced, although the original logo plate on the rear deck remains. As mentioned before, this car has undergone an extensive restoration where the engine & transmission and other components such as the front suspension, brakes, brake booster, carburetor, electric servo unit and original radio have been rebuilt, for which we have a huge stack of receipts in hand to go with the car. All of the weather stripping, headliner, exhaust system, fuel pump, water pump, tires and carpeting have been replaced and are new. All of the glass on the car is new, with the exception of the rear window.Inside, you will find that the interior has been replaced with the correct two tone white and gold cloth/vinyl combination. The seats look awesome and show very minimal signs of wear. The headliner and carpet have been replaced as look incredible. The dashboard is in excellent condition and houses all of the original gauges, an original rebuilt AM radio and the famous Edsel speedometer. The steering wheel is where you will find the shifter for the transmission ... this particular Edsel has the Teletouch Tranmission where it is a push button shift in the center of the steering wheel. Under the hood, you'll find a rebuilt 410 cubic inch V8 engine within a beautifully detailed and clean engine bay. Attached to the engine is an automatic Teletouch transmission that is push button shifted through the steering wheel. The Edsel sits upon a set of 14" wheels with chrome Edsel covers wrapped in P235/75R14 white wall tires. This car does come equipped with power brakes and power steering.This is a gorgeous example of the rarer 1958 Edsel 4 door hardtop Citations.
