This Cougar runs strong and starts up with a turn of the key with no coughing or hesitation. The X code cars came with the big 390 Cu In. V8 and this one has only 70,787 original miles as stated by the previous owner. The paint is in great condition and has a good shine and luster with no major imperfections to be found. This car was completely stripped and repainted about 2 1/2 years ago. The front and rear bumpers retain a great shine and luster with no pitting to be found. The original vinyl top is in great shape with rips or stains. The hubcaps do have some minor peeling on the paint but are in overall good shape. They are wrapped with 225/70 R14's that have about 75% tread life left in them. The engine emits a great sound coming out of the newer Dynomax dual exhaust system. The previous owner stated that the engine has had the cylinder heads reconditioned along with the pushrods and lifters. The engine has also been dipped and repainted. The frost plugs, piston rings, main bearings and cam bearings, oil pump, fuel pump, plugs, rotor cap, wires, alternator assembly radiator hoses and thermostat have all been replaced. Also, there has been the following installed: Petronix ignition and coil, aftermarket tachometer and new rear shocks. All work is stated to have been done at a Ford dealership.
