MotoeXotica is offering a great blast from the past. A wonderful 1926 Ford Model T 2 door sedan finished in the original black color and has been upgraded with red wire wheels. The steel body is very solid with only minor dings visible, the paint shows a great shine. There are some scratches on the back of the headlights where the sides of the hood have come down on top of it. That is the only major imperfection to the body though. The steel front and rear bumpers have no pitting or major dings to them and are in great condition. The car does have an electric starter installed as well as the original crank starter. The electric starter turns, but presently does not have enough juice to get the car started. We have started the car with the crank but tends to be an event. The car is still on the original 6 volt system. The car is running but does need some work getting it started. The pedals do need some getting used to because if you have never driven one of these cars you will need to go through the "Learning to drive the Model T 101" course. There are three pedals: one for the brakes and two controlling the planetary transmission. The transmission is sort of a semiautomatic that Henry Ford though would be easier to operate then a manual gearbox for all of those first time drivers. The left most pedal controls the gears. Low is all the way in; neutral is about halfway out and all the way out is high gear. The center pedal engages reverse and the right pedal is the brake. The throttle is controlled with a lever behind the steering wheel while your left hand steers. Easy enough?? Class dismissed!This would be a great addition to a collection or a great parade piece.
